Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi Lodge is magical! A true paradise! Everything is amazing... the beautiful location, the super friendly and helpful staff (Edward, Mwila, Bruce and all the others), the gorgeous and very romantic Nut House (our room), the great excursions with Captain Ronald to the Victoria Falls and on the Zambezi River, the sunset experience, the delicious food... really exceptional! We miss everyone and cannot wait to go back! We can highly recommend Green Safaris.

This lodge is pure luxury from the time you step out the car. The staff are always there, yet not intrusive. The rooms are spacious and look out over the Zambezi river where Hippos and Crocodiles are ever present. There is a floating dining table for small intimate dinners as the sun sets. Staff are always on hand to book excursions- highly recommend the sunset and sunrise cruise - watch elephants take their morning dip, as hippos practice and demonstrate their swimming techniques , while crocodiles lay on rocks thinking of their next meal. Don’t miss a visit to Victoria Falls - such an experience! Highly recommend

We were the only guest for first couple of days and felt like royalty. Offered a lovely upgrade to the birdhouse which was divine. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. The cruises along the river were so relaxing and informative. We did the trip to the falls and the volume of water was so much more than our last visit. There are a lot of stairs at this lovely lodge however given the high quality and quantity of food consumed they were a blessing.

Everything was perfect. The view. The room. The food. The day excursions. And especially the personal attention from Sula, Jacob & Phixon, who made sure we were always well taken care of. Welcome drinks. Sunset cruises with hippos (including good South African white wines). They even made an actual birthday cake for us! Well done!

Tongabezi was even better than we expected, the photos online do not do this place justice. We stayed at the Nut House and it was amazing, even more luxurious than the photos suggest. Agreey (apologies if this isnt spelt correctly) and Abi were our two members of staff and both were so welcoming, went above and beyond for us and provided us with the best stay. We will be suggesting this to friends and family, the views and the boat rides offered were amazing, having a glass of wine with some canapes whilst in amongst hippo's, crocodiles and various other wildlife was such a special touch all included in the stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Best place ever with beautiful sunset and views. The place is offering unique services including some safari activities. The food is more than the taste as well as the set up of the bedroom is more than expected. You should not be in a hurry as you plan your visit to Tongabezi.

An incredibly beautiful location overlooking the Zambezi. Beautiful lodges.Ours was very spacious and luxurious (the secluded outside bath was amazing). We were looked after by our lovely valet Yvonne who was attentive without being intrusive. Together with our guide Obie they put together some amazing experiences such as lunch on an island in the river with an amazing view. Obie was very knowledgeable and put together an itinerary that matched our interests - being on the edge of the Falls and seeing the baby rhino were especial treats. The staff are all so friendly, the views stunning, the rooms luxurious, the food delightful and the experiences offered will live long in the memory. It was the perfect ending to our journey through Botswana and Zimbabwe. We’d definitely recommend ending such a journey on a high here as very convenient for Livingstone Airport too.

We stayed in one of the cottages. It was very well appointed and comfortable. It was hotter than we had expected so having the air-conditioning was a welcome addition. However, the structure of the building seemed to keep it really cool in the day even without it. We had a lovely view. You could sit in the bath and watch the hippos in the river! We were assigned a personal butler, Jato, and he looked after us so well. I have never stayed anywhere with such exceptional service and attention to detail. We were also allocated a guide, Abi, for our stay and he was brilliant too. As keen photographers, we were very happy to spend our time on the morning and evening boat cruises and to spend time in the day lazing around. We also visited Victoria falls early morning and walked down to the boiling pot which is well worth doing. The food was very good and every day we were taken to a different spot for lunch and dinner. We also visited the local market one day and went into the small local reserve where we saw white rhino. What a privilege to see these beautiful animals - a mother and a 4 month old baby. Good to witness the conservation efforts and protection of these endangered animals. This property was one of three green safari lodges on our trip and we would highly recommend booking through Green Safaris. We had an amazing holiday.

A great place with excellent facilities and staff - Jato And Phixon in particular were everything you could want in a personal valet and guide One day we saw the Victoria Falls - in rain and sunshine - in the morning and in the afternoon walked near to white rhino Evenings could be spent overlooking the Zambezi listening to the hippos not far away, drinking the excellent wine and eating the fabulous food What a place!
