The Pilot Boat

Went for lunch and spent £104 on 4 roast dinners and 4 drinks. Wouldn’t have minded but after waiting for almost 1 hour for the food to arrive the roast dinners (all 4) were luke warm and not much on the plate. We had roast beef, 2 small slices, half a potato cut in half (2 roast potatoes) 3 slices of carrot, 1 slice of parsnip, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding. We did complain and they warmed the food up, but very disappointed with the amount and the fact it was almost cold. Waitress was very apologetic. Would not recommend this place for food.

Great clean stylish room with amazing large bathroom . Great that our room had a sea view which was a bonus.Meal in the restaurant was great couldn’t fault anything and the Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome . Can’t wait to stay again

Love the Pilot Boat. Been coming here, through it’s various incarnations, for 23 years. Today, a round was £15. The same round, a pint of bitter and a small bottle of Cava, was £9.30 in The Nags. That’s 62% more. How is that possibly justified? On any level?? I would steer clear.

I have to say the beer on tap was very good. My "hand picked crab sandwich", however, was not. For £14 I got thin sliced supermarket bread with a thin smear of crab mixture. No sign of the "lemon mayonnaise". The overwhelming taste was of margarine. The salad leaves were the best bit. I wouldn't eat there again.

I recently stayed at The Pilot Boat in Lyme Regis for one night, and it was an exceptional experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a charming nautical theme, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The level of comfort provided was top-notch, making it a truly relaxing stay. The attention to detail in every aspect of the accommodation was evident. I would highly recommend The Pilot Boat to anyone looking for a delightful and memorable getaway.

Booked on the spur of the moment for this slightly quirky stopover full of character and fun. Colourful, comfy room (Dorset Gold) with sea view. We had absolutely everything we needed including fresh milk and complimentary beer. The breakfast set us up for the day. We will always remember this place with affection.

I was passing through for a brief overnight stay and wished I could have stayed longer. The place is charming with lovely rooms, my window overlooked the Lyme river and the sea. Spacious and airy room, well equipped. The bar and restaurant had a great vibe and the staff ever so helpful. The town itself is a gem. I must go back for longer!

We ended up in The Pilot Boat after a recommendation from a local. We were not dissapointed. The restaurant and bar area is excellent. It's big enough for maneuvering buggies around and table service is prompt and friendly. We visited twice, once for lunch and another for drinks and we're very happy on both occasions. The food is very good for the price and the pizzas stood out, and we're enjoyed by both adult and children. (recommend the crab pizza). The fish and chips were good, albeit the batter was slightly heavy for my taste, but still an enjoyable meal. We would throuroughly reccomend here for both food and drinks and this is the only establishment we visited twice in the same day whilst on holiday. This was entirely down to the welcoming atmosphere on offer here and attentiveness of staff. We will return.

Very welcoming, felt like we've known everybody for years. Having a drink in the bar at the end of the night get to have conversations with guessed and local. Very accommodating breakfast was brilliant.
