Nous avions réservé cet hotel parcequ’il etait le seul à se situer dans le site du Macchu Piccu. Neanmoins pour plus de 1000€ par nuit nous avons eu le droit à une toute petite chambre à la vue sur un MUR Après négociations et attente de 3 h nous avons pu changer pour une chambre plus agreable Le guide dependant de Belmond etait d’une qualité limite, les repas etaient moyens Bref si nous devions le refaire nous choisirions un hotel luxueux a Agua Calientes disposant d’une navette privée pour acceder au Macchu Piccu

Soyons clairs, le meilleur atout de l'hôtel est son emplacement. Cet emplacement unique cache un bon restaurant et un personnel très attentif. Beaucoup d'agitation par moments, beaucoup de groupes, si ce n'était le prix, on se croirait dans un très grand refuge de montagne... Petites chambres, mais on n'y vient pas pour dormir!

Carlos Caballero, the maitre d'hotel and Tampu restaurant went above and beyond in making the experience memorable. I was just enjoying the terrace outside the room and he completed the experience by offering to bring some wine. At the dinner, he was ever attentive.

Carlos Caballero (Maitre’D) at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Machu Picchu provided the most impeccable service, attention and care we’ve ever received from any of the number of luxury hotels we’ve stayed at. We arrived in Machu Picchu the night before and were looking forward to a full day of walking around the site and learning in a private guided tour. Unfortunately, we stayed at a different hotel in town and I came down with food sickness. My wife’s dream has always been to visit so I encouraged her to press ahead with the tour, while I found sanctuary at the Belmond while we waited for late afternoon Hiram Bingham train to Cusco. The entire day while my wife was at the site, I laid outside under the shade of a beautiful canopy sleeping and debilitated. Not only did he let me sleep even knowing I wasn’t staying at the hotel (we had lunch and tea time scheduled at the Belmond though so we weren’t entirely stray), but when my wife came back and I woke up, Carlos recognized that I didn’t have a chance to see the actual site and that we were going to skip our scheduled tea time in the main restaurant with other groups. So, Carlos surprised us by setting up a private tea time for my wife and I in a private deck of the hotel that provides the most stunning and romantic view imaginable of Machu Picchu. People can really turn your day around. Carlos is a special guy and we couldn’t thank him enough for helping us create a wonderful memory here. It gives us the chills thinking about how sympathetic and helpful Carlos was to us. We will be back to the Belmond (this time to stay there) and look forward to seeing Carlos.
