Nous avons séjourné une nuit dans cet hôtel le lieu est atypique comme toute la ville mais les chambres sont mal entretenues notamment la salle de bain tout écaillée au sol Le petit déjeuner est très banal on a l'impression d'être dans une hôtel 2 étoiles Personnel très gentil

We corresponded by email with Bette about our reservation and stay at Cenbbio Hotel. She responded promptly and in English. Our shuttle car arrived within a few minutes of our phoning from the parking garage Francesco, the driver was very efficient and helpful. We did have to walk down a good number of flights of steps with our luggage. Francesco helped with our bags and went at our pace which made it easier. The hike was well worth it because the hotel and the view are SPECTACULAR. Ivana at reception gave us a very warm welcome. The rooms were unique- beautiful 'caves' with modern amenities and elegant furnishings. The complimentary breakfast was great- pastries, fruits, cured meats, wonderful cheeses and eggs cooked to order. All of the staff greeted us warmly. Mario, the manager was particularly good conversation. He spoke with us in English and Italian. We would love to return to Matera and Cenobbio Hotel!

A beautiful hotel set in an old basilica/monastery and in a wonderful central location. We enjoyed the modern fit out, the private courtyard and the amazing views. The service was great and very very helpful. best to contact the hotel before arriving if you’re driving, with the carpark a little distance away however they provide a transfer service to make this a simple experience.

Great location in the Sassi, not far from Duomo. We stayed in a fabulous, huge and beautifully furnished room set into the old caves. It even included a hot tub!! The pick up service from the town centre car park is very useful and efficient. However, for the price of the suite, we would have really appreciated tea/coffee facilites and a couple of wine glasses in the room.

Great hotel in good location. The process from parking the car to check in via the Piazza Duomo was excellent. The breakfast was lovely and the room fab with a great view. Mario was the star for us. He is a man who seems truly happy in his work. His recommendations and advice were excellent. Recommend this hotel whole heartedly.

Myself and my daughter have just returned from this excellent welcoming hotel. Exceptionally clean and in an ideal location. Comfortable, cosy cave room. The staff were very helpful, friendly and would make any breakfast requested. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming

We only stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer. The city and hotel are such a joy. This hotel is situated close to the Murgia Materana Park. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Sassi but also going down to the Ponte Tibetano della Gravina (bridge within the park). The rooms were clean and modern. The bathroom was spacious with a nice shower. The one thing to note is that the hotel does not have parking on site (none of the cave hotels do to my knowledge) which means parking outside the ZTL and thus schlepping your bags 10-15min from the lot and up and down stairs. This is the price to pay for staying in a converted cave and was worth it for us.

Our experience at Cenobio Hotel was fantastic! The hotel is located in the heart of Matera. The rooms were fabulous- they offered spectacular views of the valley and cave dwellings carved in the mountainside which the Sassi area is famously known for. We had the pleasure of meeting the unforgettable 'Mario'. He was very funny and accommodating during our stay. He arranged a wonderful dinner for us in one of the local restaurants. Food and wine was delicious. We had a very early check out the next morning which he was very good to facilitate and arrange an early breakfast for us both.
