Galdana Gardens

From arriving at the entrance of Galdana Gardens we were impressed. Our 1 bedroom apartment was lovely. It was very well equipped with everything you could need, even a pack with washing up liquid, sponge and cloth. It was comfortable both in the sitting room and the bedroom. Everywhere was spotless. As we were on the top floor we had fabulous views of the bay and the open sea. It's in a very central area very close to the shops and restaurants but definitely not noisy. The pool was good with a separate kiddies pool Reception staff were very helpful with printing out our documents for travel. We can't recommend Galdana Gardens enough.

I would endorse what another recent review said. Excellently located, practical, spacious and clean apartments, good balcony area with nice views, good aircon, and fine shower, with plenty of hot water. Not fancy and a bit dated, but fine for us (older married couple). Pool and area around it are well kept, pool is not enormous but bigger than I had expected from some photos, and is cleaned each morning with an interesting robot! There is lovely planting. It is quiet, despite being central -we were on first floor in the building with the cliff on one side rather than the rooms above the restaurants and shops. Our stay was very reasonably priced, with Jet2 holidays. The main slight negative was a lack of information eg local maps, recycling places (which are actually nearby). Also the wifi was a bit patchy - I watched a football game while there on laptop and buffering was very bad in apartment, even on balcony, but was fine when I moved to the poolside (with headphones). Fridge small but fine. An electric kettle would have been nice. Nice touches were the washing up liquid and tea towels, and them letting us stay past the noon check out until 2pm when we had our airport pick-up. In term of the area, for the reasonably fit we would recommend the mainly forest walk to the next beach (Cala Macarella). Its beach is not particularly better but it is a nice walk. The beach is nice, with good sand, and a gradual incline, though our stay was marred by brown water including a lot of plant matter from the river, following bad storms just before we arrived. Apparently it is unusual. We took the beach umbrellas that previous residents had left in a cupboard when we went to the beach , but didn't use them as there was shade from trees. The loungers and umbrellas that you pay for were expensive at 20 or so euros a day. We got the local bus in one day to Ciutadella, which is very attractive and worth the journey. In the resort there are plenty of good restaurants and small bars nearby, including a sports bar. Best restaurant we used was the Mirador, overlooking the beach, which was much more reasonably priced than we expected given its location (£12 for a bottle of house white).

Excited to be writing a TA review after so long! :) The apartment was simple but absolutely perfect for our needs. Fantastic location, spotless room, great AC, large bathroom, good shower, soap/shampoo/shower gel provided, good value in comparison to other properties in the area, plenty of space, great pool, quiet at night, very close to the main beach of the town (4 minutes of lesuirely walk). The other guests were respectful and despite the hotel being fully booked with loads of families we never felt overwhelmed with noise or crowd. The balcony had a clothes airer, table and four chairs. The staff were very pleasant. I asked housekeeping staff not to enter our apt for the duration of the stay (for sanitary reasons) and they didn't. Fresh towels / sheets were left for us on the balcony. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around the hotel. We never had to walk more than 10 mins to reach points of interest. There are boat, car, kayak rental places all around the complex. Marina just across the road for the boat trips. One of the most amazing beaches in Menorca, Cala Macarella, is only 30 minutes walk through the forest. A few negatives: First off - the price. We paid €800 for week stay for two people. That's a bit harsh for September. The prices for the same place in October are €400 per week. So we felt that we overpaid. But the prices of all hotels in Menorca appear to have been inflated this summer. This was probably the only hotel with good rating below €1000 per week. Mad times. There is a closet in the hallway which we didn't think to check - there are beach umbrellas there. We didn't know so bought another one and ended up leaving it there upon discovering the closet on our last day. Given there were 3 umbrellas in that closet I suspect we were not the first ones to do so. Not a big deal as it was only €10 but in the age of re-using and recycling it was a waste. Perhaps the info about beach umbrellas can be added to the information sheet in the apartment? And speaking about recycling - we wanted to separate our waste which the hotel does not encourage. Please add information to the sheet that there are recycling bins 2 minutes away for bottles, paper etc. The hotel itself has one bin for all waste and surely most people just dump everything in one bin. Finally, at booking, the page says that the apartment has garden view and sea view. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor but no sea could be seen. Normally booking com is very precise with these descriptions and if it says sea view you get sea view but not here. Not a big deal as we rarely stayed in the place during the day but expect no sea view. Those are relatively minor gripes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to anyone!

Complejo de apartamentos construidos alrededor de la piscina. El complejo no es muy grande, tendrá unos 20 apartamentos, muy tranquilo y cuidado. La ubicación inmejorable, en el paseo marítimo de Cala Galdana, rodeado de bares, restaurantes y tiendecitas de objetos de playa. Los apartamentos están cuidados, decoración estilo rústica, camas cómodas, cocina pequeña, pero con todos los servicios. Limpian y cambian sábanas, toallas cada 3 dias En general, muy bien

We have been to Galdana Gardens several times over the years, and we had a very enjoyable and relaxing break. We were fortunate to have a top floor apartment this time and well worth going up the steps for the wonderful view of the bay. The Gardens are superb, and the guys who maintain them are brilliant 👏 Maite on reception is just superb 👌 The cleaning ladies are great 👍 Just great. I will bring up the towel reserving issue as it's a problem. 9am towels down and return at 3pm and even reserving 4 sunbeds for 2 people on either side of the pool... If you can't beat them, join them... which we didn't But hey, hoy. Great place and location.
