Capanna Suites

I have had to remove a star because of one employee. Capanna Suites formed part of our honeymoon in Tuscany. The room was clean and beautifully decorated with a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside and hilltop medieval town. The restaurant staff were a highlight of our holiday - excellent friendly and knowledgeable service, delicious food and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting experience and dinner tasting. Our sincere regards and thanks to the restaurant staff for taking such great care of us. Another highlight was the resident mother cat and her kittens which were just a delight to watch them playing on the property. I need to highlight why this trip was ruined by one member of staff for us. The man who welcomed us brought me to tears. Upon arrival we signed a health form for us to use the Capanna Suites Spa. This details various health conditions and scenarios limiting us usage of the spa, all of which did not apply to us and was signed and handed back. This man then said, “here at Capanna Suites spa we do not allow pregnancy”. Initially we laughed thinking it was a strange joke as we are on our honeymoon and should enjoy ourselves responsibly or something. Instead, he said that we would not be able to use the spa while pregnant and have to accept any risks if we decide to use it anyway knowing this information. I stared at him then asked, “so if I am pregnant you are saying I use the spa at my own risk?”. He nodded and I said, “I am not pregnant”. He looked at my mid drift, made a face and said “ok” as if he didn’t believe me. It was very quiet and I went into shock as I realised I had just been fat-shamed on my honeymoon. I managed to make a joke about having eaten a lot of pizza so far on the trip but I was utterly humiliated and mortified. I received no apology and I have been obsessing about this man’s rude observation of me ever since. FYI I have been dieting for 3 years for my wedding. I was not overweight. Now I was having the opportunity to enjoy myself and eat what I wanted in Italy, renown for its cuisine - and he did that to me. Made me conscious of my appearance and feel guilty for enjoying myself. On my honeymoon. I want to highlight that this is not ok. What if I had recently lost a baby? Had a health condition? Couldn’t have children? Any number of scenarios where your future patrons who may be more upset than I was to be spoken to like that. I had signed the waiver already. Change your wording to something like “we have to ask everybody for safety, can I just check that there is no chance you are pregnant”, regardless of someone’s appearance. Don’t start taking to me like you’ve already deduced that I am pregnant. Maybe it’s a cultural thing but you need to be called out for this. I want you to change this behaviour for the sake of future women who visit your site. This man was the first person we met. He was the face of your company who has the position of setting the tone of our stay from the outset

What an amazing place! CapAnna Suites and it’s location were absolutely perfect for exploring this beautiful region of Tuscany. The agriturismo overlooks the stunning Val d’Orcia (the view took on a different light every day) and was the perfect location for exploring Montalcino and Montepulciano and tasting the world famous Brunello wine and also Nobile wines but also for chilling out by the infinity pool. The accommodation is 5* but with a rustic charm. A delicious breakfast with buffet and a la carte is included in the room price as is an hour of relaxation in the exclusive spa. The restaurant serving ultra local fine dining was just amazing (but not for every night) and the staff were excellent. A car is essential to explore the area.

Set on top of the Tuscan hills this new (ish) retreat was a great overnight stay. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was really good as well. All the staff were fantastic. We did the wine tasting as well. Would recommend Capanna.

We had our wedding renovation at Capanna. My whole family and I stayed there for 1 week being very well attended by Fabrizio and his team. A wonderful place with great people. We feel at home. Today, we have new friends in Italy and a new home to stay. Thank you Fabrizio and team for an unforgettable week.

Wow! What an amazing property. If you are looking for pure serenity away from all of the hustle and bustle of life, then Capanna Suites is the place to be. From the moment we arrived at the top of the hill where the hotel is situated, the first thing we noticed was the absolute peace and quiet and stunning countryside views. It’s surreal to have literally no noise in the background, especially at a hotel. The infinity pool is one of the most beautiful pools that we have ever enjoyed, and is set to the perfect temperature. We booked a garden view room, and I must say, the natural beauty and the attention to the decorative details were very tastefully done. The room was also extremely spacious in comparison to most Italian hotel rooms. We travel to Italy frequently to visit family, and this room was on another level. The food at the restaurant was out of this world. The star of the meal was the first course which was a tomato dish made from 7 different tomatoes with a green tomato sorbet on top. As a culinary fanatic, this was one of the most simple, yet complex dishes I’ve ever seen visually and tasted… a work of art, and an explosion of flavors in your mouth. We also had the Angus steak snd shrimp pasta, as well as the chocolate cremeaux for dessert which were all delicious as well. Make sure to pair the local Brunello di Montalcino wine with the steak and chocolate, it was a perfect pairing. The breakfast omelette and sausage were fantastic as well. And finally, kudos to the staff and thank you especially to Anna for your hospitality. The service was first class from start to finish. Well done!

Capanna Suites was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. It is set in the countryside near Montalcino. The grounds are gorgeous! There is a stunning infinity edge pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. There are also beautiful vegetable and flower gardens on the property. The spa looked amazing, though we did not get a chance to go. The rooms were very private and spacious. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable! Attention to every detail! Highly recommend!

We stayed at Capanna Suites for 4 nights during the Summer. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, classically designed with plenty of space to unpack, store items, etc. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept great all 4 nights. With the heat in July, we really appreciated the pool and used it daily to stay cool. The inclusive breakfast was delicious with a variety of options. Additionally, having never been to Tuscany, we thought the location was perfect – only about 8 minutes to the town of Montalcino and great location to access the other villages to the east and the south. The staff and management were wonderful, we received great recommendations on dinners, enoteca’s, and wineries from Pamela and the GM Fabrizio also gave us great tips and we even bumped into him while we were drinking wine in Montalcino. We would recommend staying here and would definitely stay again!

We spent few beautiful days on this location and it was really excellent. Location it's amazing, service and people there are smiley and kind. We truly recommend it. It was a perfect honey moon. Paola and Matia
