I am 27, speak some Italian, traveled alone, and used public transport to get to Montepulciano. Montepulciano can be quite a challenge to walk up with luggage from the bus station as there are some parts that are quite steep. If you have a car, La Terrazza has a car park right in front of it. I can agree with the positives in the previous comments pre covid. Roberto and Vittoria are genuinely friendly and invested in taking care of their visitors. Roberto has helped me with restaurant recommendations and booked a taxi (Bus to Chiusi does not run on Sunday!). The room was classically decorated, without being tacky, with the basic amenities in place including a hairdryer. Bed was on the harder side, which is common in Italy, and I am more than happy with it for the amount paid for. Breakfast was generous. Roberto and Vittoria personally tended to me with the breakfast cart consisting of yogurts, fresh bakes by Vittoria, and pastries. Fruits, cold cuts, and jams were available. Drinks included fresh coffee and juice. On the occasions when I mentioned his name in town, the locals had only good things to say about Roberto. For the amount paid, I am beyond satisfied and would look forward to revisit.
