This is my third time in this hotel (2016, 2019), I'm sorry to say this, but this is by far one of the worst hotels I ever stayed. I'm no masochist, I come to Charleston for work, my company is booking this place for us. This is going to be a long review… Where to start: 1. Rooms - furniture old and damaged. I did not have the hair dryer in my room. 2. Cleanness - a term not very know here. Room that smells like someone left a pair of dirty socks somewhere, dirty dishwasher, crumbs and hair on the floor, but this not the worst part. When packing I've put the suitcase on the floor, and since almost kneeling near it I felt a strange smell. Long story short, the carpet was peed on, by pets or human I don't know. It took me 30 minutes, 0.5 l of medical alcohol and a pack of disinfectant wipes to kill the smell from the suitcase. A colleague of mine killed a supersized cockroach in his room... 3. AC - when on is impossible to sleep, first the smell and then the fact that is over the bed and very loud. Moreover, if someone in other rooms had it on, I heard it, the sound isolation is lousy. 4. Staff - I have to "ladies" to point out: the one that slammed the phone to me when I asked for help (internet down, she gave me the number of the service provider to call and troubleshoot with them, leaving one number out), I want to the front desk, asking for the manager, she was rude and left. Having blue plastic nails does not qualify you to work with people. The other one is the one that I talked about the peed carpet "OK, I'll let the housekeeping know". No apologies, no "would you like another room"... Two of the front office employees are the only good thing from my stay, they are the reason for two stars related to the service. others... 5. No light switch in the laundry room. Yet again, service that is far from professional, he was trying to convince me that there is a switch by the door, or somewhere in the room. Yes, there is. To operate it you need an old school key... 6. Breakfast... Honestly, I would prefer no breakfast than the meal served here. Coming from a country with a tradition in tourism, having some education in hospitality field and tons of experience traveling around the world I wonder who categorized it with *** and when, because the hotel now is stretched **, only because of the pool (did not use it).
