Avis : KAMENOI HOTEL NACHI KATSUURA KUMANO KODO

La chambre est très bien et très spacieuse.  Cependant le personnel et les services étaient catastrophiques.  Je suis arrivée, on m’a donné un seul créneau horaire pour le petit dej, sans jamais rien me mentionner pour le restaurant le soir.  Donc le premier matin, j’avais mon petit déjeuner à 8h30, et qu’elle ne fut pas ma surprise de recevoir non pas un, ni deux mais bien trois coups de téléphone le matin à 7h30 pour me demander si je voulais un nettoyage de chambre. Mais où sommes nous ? J’ai jamais vu un hôtel qui ose appeler les clients à 7h30 et de surcroît pour parler nettoyage de chambre. Laissez moi dormir en fait.  Le soir je vois le restaurant, ils m’ont dit impossible d’avoir un créneau pour dîner alors que l’hôtel est à 10 minutes du centre et que c’est pas éclairé dehors.  Le lendemain je n’ai pas non plus pu choisir mon créneau de partir déjeuner et on me l’a mit à 7h30. Moi qui voulait me reposer et passer du bon temps, c’était raté!  Le onsen privé, dans l’idée c’est sympa, mais il était tiède, donc à 200€ la chambre ça faisait un peu cher payer.

Room has nice sea view. Dinner and breakfast are decent. There’s free noodle at night. Some entertainment facilities but need to pay.

Very nice seaside hotel located within walking distance from train station. They plan the breakfast and dinner so meticulously that they ensure you enjoy different set meals everyday. For early birds, you’ll get a complimentary drink for dinner. Staff are friendly and approachable. It also comes with onsen and complimentary coffee and noodles.

Excellent stay in a cool traditional room. The onsen was amazing and the staff friendly. The free coffee ☕ was terrible. But Hey! It was free ✅

Lovely Onsen that took great care of me for the last 2 nights of a 5-day Kumano Kodo journey. It has everything you could need.

We had a few issues with our stay that are useful to know about if you’re planning to stay here, but first of all I’d like to say that this is a good hotel overall, or at least it has the potential to be one with a few minor changes or considerations. Issues: - There’s no toothpaste in the rooms. I’m assuming this is something that can be requested at the front desk though. - The AC units are old. Our room got very warm and I needed to go down to the front desk to ask for help. I think getting new AC units would be a good idea. - Limited English. Yes, this is an issue for those who cannot speak Japanese, and it’s not a major issue, because some select staff members can speak a bit of English, but I called the reception desk to tell them about the AC issue and was met with “sorry” and got hung up on. I guess the staff member panicked a bit and rather than getting a colleague to talk, he thought the issue would just go away. - Tattoos are not accepted in the Onsen. This may not come as a major surprise for most people who’ve done research into what’s considered okay in Japan, but some places offer stickers or clothing to cover tattoos. This place unfortunately does not. I have a small tattoo and it meant that I was excluded from using one of the coolest aspects of the hotel. - A service charge when you check out. This was not communicated at all until check out. The service charge is 300 as of writing this review, and it’s for the Onsen maintenance, but as I didn’t/couldn’t make use of this feature, I thought it was a little unfair to make me pay for it. If I had known in advance I would’ve also accepted it, but to be told this before leaving was a bit unprofessional. Perhaps instead of charging every guest for the Onsen, they could/should charge those who actively use it. There are a few more minor issues that aren’t worth fussing over. I hope this helps other guests in some way/

Nice hotel with good sea view

Japanese style room with ocean view was so impressive. The room was clean and cozy. But the dinner set and breakfast were a bit small
