What a surprise gem! My husband and I stayed here one night en route to Maine. It was lovely and perfectly appointed. We stayed in a King room. The kitchen was great, the mattress fantastic, and the bathroom was large (with a great shower head). We took chairs and walked down to the ocean for a cocktail on our Friday evening stay. The only suggestion I would make is to have some plastic tumblers to take a drink to the beach or harbor area (there were only glass glasses and cups). We had breakfast at the small cafe next door that following morning. Highly recommend and very close to Portsmouth. We loved our stay! I would totally stay here for a week, as it was an easy drive in and around ME and NH.

The INN was absolutely perfect. It has the exact right vibe for Portsmouth. It’s a vintage style building that is modern and comfortable inside without losing its rustic charm. I wanted to find a place to stay that reflected a New England feel, and this was exactly it. Thank you so much, and I HIGHLY recommend staying here. We will be back!

Loved everything about it. EVERYTHING. Already looking into the next stay. Perfect location. Cozy, clean and comfortable. Had everything that you may need. Quiet, private. Beautiful room and landscapes. New Castle has a very special feel to it.

I have been in the property business for over 25 years and the attention to detail with all the quality touches are stunning. The accommodation is luxury, the products wonderful and the location peaceful yet close to the water. Doug and Amy are superb hosts, very attentive and understanding. They have simply thought of all we needed and their experience in the hospitality field shines through. We will be staying in one of their establishments again and soon. Richard & Victoria

This hotel is amazing. The room we stayed in was a king studio. It was clean and spotless, with calming, contemporary decor. There is a full kitchen and a large bathroom with stacked washer and dryer. New Castle Island is absolutely beautiful, with a short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back in the future.

Previous experiences with contactless inns have been perfunctory at best and feeling less than cared for at other times - not so here! Much care in communications from the very beginning. Upon arrival the method of entry, from parking to getting in the door, were easy, clear and went without a hitch, not bad for a building from 1820! The design team and the level of thought that went into the amenities could only be achieved by a gracious host with help from a well exercised and proven process I’ll call, “anticipatory design science” - these guests felt we cared for by the invisible hosts!

An absolute gem. I had the most wonderful stay at the Great Island Inn in New Castle. The location is quiet and makes you feel like you're on vacation but only minutes from downtown Portsmouth and the beach. Check-in was hassle-free and convenient after a long drive. The room had everything I could need with attention to detail going above and beyond. Not to mention the room was spotless. I will absolutely be returning. Thank you for such a nice experience!

My husband and I stayed here with our fur baby this December. What a wonderful experience! The inn is immaculate! Our room was the perfect size accommodations for a couple! Parking is excellent and clearly marked for each unit. We ran into a couple other folks staying at the inn who were so nice! I love the location which is lovely! There is a cute cafe just steps away. Ocean close by. Can’t say enough about this inn! Just perfect!

We escaped home for a short weekend to shop for our christmas gifts. Kittery, Porstmouth, North Conway were just a short drive away. We even enjoyed the Christmas parade on saturday night in Portsmouth. The Inn was cozy, with all the amenities needed to have a comfortable stay. We will be back again with our furry friend in the near future. Thanks to our host, which made us feel at home, away from home !
