Audubon Cottages

The location is perfect. It is inside New Orleans, close to all interesting places to visit. The cottage we had on two floors was great. It is a bit expensive for a place managed like an Air B&B. No breakfast. No way to get anything to eat or snack. Place clean, well maintained.

Lovely pool, lush courtyard, quiet respite upper end of quarter. Staff really helpful, made you feel welcome. Comfortable bed, really clean room, everything was perfect ! Loved it, we will be back. Hat's off to Shaun, Anthony and entire staff.

Walking through the discreet door off Dauphine is like walking into old time Hollywood. You can feel the history and glamour in the lush plantings and in every brick in the patio and walkway. Cottage 7 where we stayed is tucked away, off the street and exudes peace and tranquility - so welcome in the French Quarter. We parked in the sister-hotels garage on the next block - easy. I agree with another reviewer that Sean is a gem. Picky comment: surprisingly inferior pillows. But I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great experience and amazing service. Great location in the Quarter but insolated enough so you don't hear noise. Staff is professional, educational, and very friendly. We will be returning here soon and will recommend to friends!

I almost don't want to review this place because I want to keep it a secret — it's that good. An absolute dream in the middle of the French Quarter. Sean is a legend, this property is beautiful, the hospitality is unmatched, the amenities are perfect. 100% recommend.

Loved cottage 7. Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, private with wonderful amenities and a lovely courtyard. I wish the wall mirror was higher and instead of two chairs there was a loveseat in front of the sofa.

Such mixed feelings - pros are the place is lovely, staff was excellent and great location. We wanted a two bedroom place with a sitting room & dining table for morning coffee & place to play cards after dinner. Cottage 4 - check. I chose this place for character and beauty and didn’t want an ordinary hotel. Check. But oh the cons. Neither bedroom had bedside tables or lamps, the bed frame was really creaky and the bed was only passably comfortable. The room was poorly lit for getting dressed in the evening or reading at bedtime. The antique dresser in our room was beautiful but not particularly useful as a dresser. I get it that the dresser should be an antique for the vibe, but there are many, many antique dressers to be had that have fully functional drawers. Lots of hanging space, tough to store other items and we were there for a week. The mirror in our room was small and hung so high it was another miss, and the wall beneath had plenty of room for a full length mirror or even better another dresser. Seriously- big blank wall could easily house a side by side dresser! There was also ample room for a couple of nightstands with lamps. It would take very little money to make it so much better. The other bedroom was very small, not a big deal but again, furniture was ill suited for the space. Could be so much better & for the money (which we didn’t mind paying) it doesn’t deliver.

Secret gem in a perfect location. All I can say is "wow!", why didn't I know about this place before? We have stayed in the Quarter numerous times over the years, and prefer historic or unique properties with antique-type furniture. Our old favorites have either closed or switched to typical hotel room decor with a faint historic flair (I'm talking about you, Prince Conti Hotel!). The Audubon Cottages really fit the bill. Enter through a fairly nondescript door into another world - lush tropical semi-private courtyards off the stunning main courtyard. Each cottage is unique and is situated on a semi-private courtyard shared with one other unit. The 2 bedroom units are stunning and huge. The bathrooms are modern but classic. Good water pressure for washing thick long hair. Everything was spotlessly clean. No weird or musty smells. The very welcoming and friendly staff was responsive and always available by phone or on-site. (It is not staffed 24/7, but help is only a phone call away). We parked at the Dauphine Orleans a block up the street, an affiliated property. No breakfast service, but honestly, you're in the French Quarter! Go get some beignets at Cafe du Monde or have Eggs Benedict at one of the many nearby cafes. We walked everywhere in the French Quarter including all the way to the end of the French Market, to the river, and up to Canal St. Nothing felt too far and we never felt unsafe (but always pay attention to your surroundings anywhere in NOLA these days!). You can be on Bourbon Street in 3 minutes. Yes, there was some street noise at night, mostly from cars with their outrageously loud and bass-filled sound systems. A small trade-off for being so close to the action! Bottom line, highly recommend Audubon Cottages.

If you want an authentic French feel, romantic, and unique experience, this motel is definitely a motel to consider. If you want space and a place to truely relax after the hustle of the French Quarter then consider looking at Audubon Cottages. The accomodation is right in the heart of all the fun things to do. I couldn't recommend this awesome place enough! Best sleep I have had on a holiday and best shower too!
