The staff knew we were celebrating our anniversary so they upgraded our room. They met us with congratulations & a glass of rose to toast us. The service, views, food, room were all top notch! Our breakfast overlooking the ocean was delicious! But the absolute best was our soaking tub with spectacular ocean views. If one desires feeling spoiled the Inn at Castle Hill is the place to celebrate!

Truly is a special and magical place. Coming here instantly makes you forget about any stresses you may have. This was my third time staying here and it is just as hard to leave each time. We stayed in the beach house and listened to the ocean while relaxing for the eve. 10/10 every single time!

Castle Hill Inn is a treasured place where you are transported away from the rigors of daily life. Just love this property in its entirety. Lodging, staff, food and the grounds! No better place to stay in Newport, RI. Hands down,NONE. Tops!!

The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. I highly recommend booking the beach cottages. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and enjoying your morning coffee on the beach is truly magical.

We were told Castle Hill Inn was a perfect place to stop and have a mid-afternoon cocktail and the warm day beckoned us to give it a try. We all sat in the comfy Adirondack chairs on the lawn facing the ocean.... It was beautiful and no one rushed us. Such a lovely time.

When in Newport, a visit to the Castle Hill Inn is a must, whether you sit in the formal dining room, the bar or the lawn all are worth a try. The service, food and cocktails are always great and even though it might be a bit pricey in my book it's well worth it just for the spectacular views.

Jordan our wonderful waitress was the best! A very sweet knowledgeable server and so professional. Lunch was delicious and fancy. Presentation lovely and views from patio beautiful. Great people watching place and a favorite with locals.

My husband and I have stayed here a handful of times before but unfortunately this last experience will truly be our last. We decided to check in after having a not so great experience at another relais and chateau property where our dog was not welcomed. We called prior to making our booking to confirm their pet policy and the employee did not mention anything aside from the usual things like not allowed inside indoor restaurants, etc. We decided to book since most of the beauty of the property is outdoors. Upon arrival there was a line for the valet as they were dealing with mostly restaurant patrons for newport folk fest...and they clearly oversold reservations and or did not have anyone turning people away. After about 10 minutes in line I decided to get out to check in at the front desk. That was even more chaotic, the front desk attendant was clearly in over her head and no room for niceties...there was a couple in front of me checking in and when they asked why the town was so busy and why there was so much traffic getting to the hotel (clear it's bc it was newport folk festival) she rudely said "this is newport in the summer". When it was my turn she told me there were about a dozen guest rooms needing to be cleaned before ours...this was at 2PM and they have a guaranteed check in of 3 PM that clearly would not be met. Despite the weird welcome we decided to wait. I got inline for the restroom in the lobby and quickly learned there was only 1 working womens restroom as they decided to take 30 minutes to clean the multi stall restroom...after about 20 minutes of waiting I was berated by a woman who was clearly overserved telling me to go use the Mens bathroom. When my husband then waited in line he was nearly walked in on by a woman trying to use the mens bathroom. They clearly did not have enough staff to handle hotel and restaurant guests and this was the most chaotic I've ever experienced at the hotel....it was the opposite of relaxation and luxury...more like hunger games and cheap Massachusetts accents. I wanted to confirm if our dog could sit in the adirondack section for hotel guests and was told by the same front desk staff "No! That would be against the health code"...we were then told he was not allowed on any of the lawns or the beach...so pretty much only allowed in the room. She told us that once we had our room we could leave him and go to the restaurant....but the hotel policy says dogs may never be left alone so it was all very contradictory. We ultimately decided to check out before even getting our room key as we felt not welcome with no clear guest area to relax (dog aside). Unfortunately it seems like this place has gone downhill from what it once was and is not worth the money IMO. I also do not recommend it for dog owners as the significant pet fee of ~$200 gets you nothing besides being tied to your room.
