Oxford House

What a fab little hotel! I had to find a place to stay on short notice when my flat became uninhabitable. The beds were comfortable, and the room had everything I needed. I loved the pool area (especially on a scorching hot day!), food was delicious and the staff were lovely and very accommodating. I ended up staying an extra two days on top of my original booking. Would stay again. Thank you!

Nice pool but room was extremely hot and humid...the air con just didn't do anything and we had to get someone to bring us a fan. As such we only got about 2 hrs sleep. Others staying also made the same comment.

It was a great place to stay. With a great environment and amazing staff. I really enjoyed the stay.

Amazing stay

Beyond the standard expectations of appointments in a hotel room ( which were great) for me a hotel is more about the customer experience and how they make you feel. I was warmly welcomed by Dillon and explained all facilities. Later I requested an iron which arrived immediately. Everything a pleasure nothing a problem. The hotel pool bar is also great place good food cocktails n winelist. And the ground floor cafe/bar makes great coffee. Highly recommend this place. Fab location. Thankyou Oxford team

I can’t believe the terrible customer service I have experienced from Oxford House. I made a booking of 7 rooms for my hens weekend. This booking has been cancelled by Oxford house, without reason and it’s only 2 weeks out from my event. I have been called by very junior staff members, who give me unclear answers as to why my booking is being cancelled, without any reasonable resolution. I would not recommend booking Oxford House for any important events, because you could very easily have the same experience as me where your booking is cancelled last minute and without reason!!!

OH! Firstly it is important to note that we chose Oxford House because of its close proximity to St Vincent Hospital. We would normally chose a large chain hotel with the added comforts because, well, who doesn’t like the nicer things when they travel. Oxford house is definitely not your average hotel. Its boutique, artsy, personal feel is felt throughout the entire property. From the second you enter Oxford House, no matter who is at the reception desk, you can guarantee your greeting will be warm and welcoming from the very first encounter. Any interaction with staff thereafter is as warm, friendly and genuinely caring. I read reviews (as you do) prior to our stay and a lot referred to the level of customer service. I, personally like nice linen, a comfortable bed, a good pillow, a pool, view. You know, that sort of thing. Oxford House ticked all my boxes above but it also ticked a box that wasn’t super important prior to this stay. It’s all about the customer service. We loved all the staff but our absolute favourite ladies were Carla and Alisha. Nothing was an effort for Carla and let me tell you, she’s got the skills to get things done. Our trip was complicated with hospital trips several times a day and we were filled with emotion and exhausted . Walking back through those doors of an evening, almost felt like home. Carla was particularly lovely and my 10 year old daughter adored her. By the time we left I felt like I had made a friend. Hotel was wonderful but Carla brought it up that extra level.

Think twice before staying here: Beyond the tactical photography is a thin veneer of 'cool' paint jobs which is coming apart in places and revealing a lack of architectural pedigree(? former hostel). The "courtyard room" promising poolside atmosphere effectively looked into a concrete planter zone - zero view, zero access, zero vibe. However the main reason we will not stay again is the misleading conduct of the staff/management who offered a refund then did not honour it. They called after we checked out and said “we offered you a full refund a few hours ago, but now it’s 50% off. This put us in a difficult situation as we had just paid for a new room”. This kind of conduct has no place in hospitality let alone a new hotel. Take home point: save your shekels for equivalent priced and similarly located destinations that deliver on what they advertise on every level: The Ace Hotel, QT, Medusa or Paramount House. Oxford House is a no going forwards unfortunately.

Cute little boutique hotel on Oxford street Paddington. Close to bus and the walking distance to Paddington shopping and restaurants of Surry Hills. Very modern and clean. Comfortable bed.
