I recently returned from a stay at hotel de Bellevue paris Gare du Nord, and although there were some positives, I would not recommend this hotel. Firstly, the location of the hotel - as other reviews state, it’s seedy. My friend and I didn’t feel safe walking to the hotel from the metro in daylight -which was only a few minutes. There were gangs of men and you could hear them throughout the night. We spent a fair amount of money on Ubers to and from the hotel in the evening as we didn’t feel comfortable walking at night. The hotel - our room was newly renovated, but very small for a twin. It had fancy light up mirrors and it was clean. A hair dryer was provided, and towels. Although the bathroom was more of a wet room, the shower was powerful and offered both rainfall and adjustable handheld options. The hotel uses physical keys to open the room doors and what we weren’t expecting was to have to hand our key back to reception every time you left the hotel. When we asked why, and if we could keep the key for our own security, we were told no. And that it was hotel policy for their security. We returned one afternoon to find that after someone had been in the room to make the beds - the door was left unlocked!! The hotel reception is supposedly under renovation, and the front entrance is closed. So to enter to the hotel there’s a rather suspicious looking door to the side. There was 24 hour reception cover as you weren’t able to access the hotel without having the door opened after pressing the doorbell. All in all, besides the clean room and some nice features, there’s nothing else positive about this hotel. I won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend - especially to women.
