Nimrod Resort Apartments

Very welcoming and helpful reception staff. The apartment was very comfortable and extremely well equipped with a full kitchen including fridge/freezer, oven, dishwasher and a laundry with washer and dryer. The pool was great and well used by my children. My friend who previously lived in Cairns told me the Nimrod was where he stayed on his yearly trip to Port Douglas - recommendation indeed.

Aardige mensen bij de receptie. Zij gaven goede tips over waar te eten en activiteiten. Het appartement is ruim en heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, bv wasmachine, droger en vaatwasser, oven, magnetron en goede airco. Zwembad is prima met fijne ligstoelen en het is er erg rustig. Strand is heel dichtbij. Enige minpuntjes zijn dat de schoonmaak echt niet goed was gedaan (bv veel viezigheid en haren in badkamer en vies servies in de keukenkastjes) en dat vorige gasten echt niet netjes zijn omgegaan met dingen waardoor er dingen gammel en stuk zijn (zoals de wc-rolhouder die los hangt, waardoor die steeds op de vloer valt en het handdoekrek dat schuin hangt).

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The couple at the front desk could not have been more helpful and were really friendly. They marked on a map all the places of interest and close places to eat. Our unit was such a welcome surprise, large and spacious and fully equipped with everything you need for a stay. The beds were so comfortable . We had tables and chairs outside to relax and have a drink. The pool was great and easily accessible. It is a little way out of town so is lovely and quiet and only about 10 minutes from Port Douglas. Its a short walk to the beach. I have no negatives for our stay and if I ever return I shall stay here again.

The rooms were extremely dirty and full of cockroaches and when brought to manager Leanne’s attention I was completely ignored and disregarded. She is a very rude woman and would not get off the phone after 20 minutes to help me. The place is an absolute ripoff. Avoid at all costs.

I’m in 2 minds about writing this review. The resort managers were absolutely lovely, it is a family run business and I love that. The location is good and the facilities are great, beautiful pool and bbq area with plenty of seating. Our 2 bedroom unit was spacious and well fitted out with full size kitchen and laundry. But… The unit is tired and not in great condition. Tile falling off the wall in lounge area, couches stained, door to laundry fell off (hubby fixed) dust was really thick on the back of the headboard in bedrooms, I cleaned as I couldn’t cope with it! The kitchen utensils were so greasy and sticky they had to be washed before using or we just didn’t touch them. Mould throughout the shower and as it was black tiles and grout you really couldn’t be certain to the extent of mould and grime. The curlews (which I love) sit outside the screen doors during the night so there is bird poop all over the patio. We also had concerns about one of the scrub hens who seems to have a damaged leg, hopefully a wildlife cater can assess it? Normally I would have asked to change rooms, but we were so tired from our travels we just didn’t have the energy. I was planning on chatting with management on checkout but we must have left early as office was closed. There is also a lack of obvious rubbish disposal points, our bin was overflowing and we would have liked to empty it but couldn’t find a place to do so.

Our stay was fabulous, the accommodation was good, clean and it had everything we needed. We spend a lot of time around and in the pool. The Mangers were amazing, helpful and very friendly. I would happily return. Thank you Leanne and Gus

Very friendly service at reception, easy check in. Good facilities at the apartment with everything you need. Really good price in the area. Would definitely recommend for families wanting a budget option.

For our long awaited Port Douglas trip, we stayed at the Nimrod Resort Apartments. What a great choice. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which included everything you needed for a self catering stay. Each apartment has a washer and dryer, which was very handy. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms were spacious enough with staorage areas for your bags. The Nimrod has a lovely pool area which the kids made good use of. There are also BBQs and tennis courts and a basketball hoop. The grounds have very nice gardens (with butterfly attracting plants) and a relaxed tropical feel. Leanne and Gus are excellent and knowledable hosts, ready to assist you so you can have a fantastic stay. There is an IGA not far away so you can grab what you need to self cater. The Nimrod resort is on the quiet end of Port Douglas, which was very good for us. If you wanted to pop over to the busier areas it was a short drive. We would definitely choose Nimrod again.

We had a lovely stay in a 2 bedroom apartment recently. This resort is quite small so not a lot of people around, therefore it’s not really busy & very quiet & relaxing. Loved the tennis court, as I hadn’t picked up a racquet for a number of years. Leanne & Gus made you feel very welcome, were very friendly & helpful. Pool area was really nice, albeit the water a bit cold ! Could have been a few degrees warmer in there. Gardens were very well maintained. Rooms were clean & comfortable. A few appliances were dated & the curtains were a bit dirty. Loved the 2 balcony areas which were very spacious. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Not very close to the Main Street which might not suit everyone so you need to drive in, but all in all a lovely place to stay ! 😃☀️🌴
