L'hôtel paraît mieux en photos qu'en vrai. La chambre était vieillotte et la salle de bain toute petite. La piscine est jolie mais l'eau était froide, on ne s'est même pas baigné une fois. Le pdj n'est pas sous forme se buffet, c'est vraiment très simple. C'est vrai que l'hôtel est isolé et de devoir toujours dépendre d'un taxi nous a déplu.

Highly recommended hotel. The staff is lovely, always ready to help, recommend and even coordinate any service for us. The rooms are large, comfortable, clean. The pool is nice although we didn't have a chance to use it. A modest breakfast, as is customary in most hotels on the island. The room has all the necessary things for a comfortable stay.

Enjoyed our time in Galapagos by staying at this place with a great breakfast and wonderful hospitality. Ronald was great helping us organize all our tours and taxi needs. It’s not quite walking distance to the main area but taxi is only $1.50-$2 and the hotel can help you get a taxi right away.

Just awesome! Stayed for six nights, can’t think of one really negative thing to say about this place or the great people that work there! It is a little ways out of town, but you never have to wait more than a couple minutes for a taxi ($2) either to or from the hotel.

Staff were very helpful and always available. Pool was great and we enjoyed the hot tub many evenings. Hotel isn't downtown, but we had no trouble having taxis called for us everyday and they were quick and inexpensive, $1.50-$2 USD. We actually enjoyed being a few minutes away from the downtown area as it we got to enjoy festivities by day, then enjoy the quiet at night.

"My family and I stayed at El Descanso del Guía this past January, and we had an incredible time. We were traveling with my husband, mother-in-law, and our children, who are 5 and 4 years old. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bedrooms were cozy and nicely furnished, and we were pleased to find that there were no insects inside them. The highlight for us was definitely the swimming pool and the jacuzzi, which were both very clean and enjoyable. Our kids loved spending time in these amenities so much that they didn't even want to go on any tours - they still ask us when we can go back! One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast. It was cooked in front of us by the pool and was absolutely delicious. It was a great way to start our day and made us feel even more relaxed and at home. The only less positive aspect is that, as the hotel clearly states when you book, it is a bit farther away from town center. However, it's still only a short taxi ride away - less than 5 minutes, in fact. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at El Descanso del Guía and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in the area."

Hotel is lovely however it is quite a walk from the centre, a taxi is only $2 though and the hotel are happy to arrange a taxi when needed. Pool was clean and had 4 loungers poolside. Looks like there may have been a poolside bar but that doesn't seem the case any more. There are two shops near by but no restaurants. Breakfast was nice and varied, always accompanied with a fresh fruit juice. Hotel can do your laundry at $2 per KG and was ready in a few hours. Staff are helpful and friendly.

The hotel was really nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very very kind! We loved all of them! We absolutely recommend this hotel and even though is not close to the Main Street it’s only 3 minutes away in a cab ($1.50 pero ride) and the staff will help you book one! Amazing

The entire staff was friendly and helpful throughout our time at the hotel. Located a short taxi ride (only $1.50 at the time of this writing) from Charles Darwin Ave, it was a nice place to relax and still be close to everything. We really enjoyed our time in Santa Cruz and would highly recommend El Descanso del Guía!
