Hacienda Tres Casitas

Simply put a restful stay. Outstanding service and amazing, fresh food. 5 star staff from front desk to dining to housekeeping. Food was well Prepared and plentiful. The variety is amazing. Lots of choices for those who are not meat eaters and delicious and fresh seafood Dishes. The room was super clean, spacious and well appointed. Can’t wait to return.

I do not recommend this lovely place for solo visitors. Given the emphasis that it's family owned (which I love!) I had expectations of a certain warmth and welcoming that did not happen during my two nights there. Technically, the owner did everything right: She was nice, competent, polite, responsive. That's perfect for most people. I was disappointed and surprised by the lack of social graces that are traditional for an attentive host, the small interactions that can make a stay feel special. For example, the first morning, when we were one on one, with no other guests present, I was not asked how my visit was going, how I slept, if I needed anything. In fact, I was not asked a single question about me, my trip, where I was from or anything whatsoever! That is unusual at a place like this. Typically a host initiates some type of conversation - which I enjoy, appreciate and welcome. When I took the initiative and asked questions, I received short, polite answers. Perhaps something was happening in her life that distracted her. People's skillsets vary at different times. These are things I am more attuned to as a solo traveler and perhaps you would not notice at all. (By the way I've traveled solo to many countries through the years and love it, so it's not like I am new to it!) Grounds are gorgeous and I am sure the upkeep is enormous so I imagine the owner is very busy. The rooms are beautiful and magical environment for sure. The homemade breakfast is delicious and made with care. Thank you! Note that the windows are latched shut with no screens (which was find because it made for great sleep), the wifi was spotty and calls dropped. None of those things bothered me at all! There was no hot water for the first night's shower and the next morning just a quick few seconds here or there. The rooms are gorgeously decorated, very classy and elegant and spacious and tidy. Topnotch! The environment is peaceful and serene and gorgeous. It is a magical space for sure. My hope is that when she reads this, the owner will, in the future, be more attuned to the next solo person to come through.

This place is amazing, the sound of the nature is fantastic. The family is very humble and make you feel part of them. Visit this place and you gonna see and feel the experience something totally different. Love it love it,

Just a surreal and amazing experience. Everything was perfect. The pool was very refreshing and kept us from overheating. The bungalow was a dream. The lighting was *chef’s kiss* perfect. Only note I have is that the rooms could use more fans since there’s no AC.

Very different experience; not for people; totally disconnected from cellular and Wifi, but connected with the nature. We sleep very well. We stay in ****ro Roof Top and it was very good. The breakfast was included and it is excellent; Mirna gave us an great customer service. The location is perfect; close to great restaurants and Cabo Rojo beach. There is some recommendations to improve the stays: 1. There is a big swinger chair in the room that can be replace for a small table for two chairs. 2. In the terrace 1st floor happen something similar; it can be replace for a table with two chairs for share in couple a coffee or drink. 3. The terrace in the second floor is excellent, but seats should have covers; we were unable to use it; it were wet and dirty with leaves.

My husband Ray and I were blessed with a return to Hacienda Tres Rios. It’s our little piece of paradise and our home in the Mayan Riviera. What makes Tres Rios amazing are two things #1 the eco system that has three natural, clear, pristine rivers that run through the property which support the mangrove jungles. It’s a place that is lush and beautiful. It is a daily thing to see the wildlife all over the park like Iguanas, tropical Great Kiskadees, Cuati, large and small fish, sea turtles, geckos and so much more. There are beautiful resort pools that stretch out all inside the park and there are adult and family areas. One area has a new water slide feature. Inside the resort are 6 or 7 restaurants including an ice cream and coffee parlor. Each night there are free high quality professional entertainment shows. In the daytime you can enjoy complimentary kayak or snorkeling tours. We bring our own snorkeling fins, masks and wet suits and spend all day in the rivers. Usually we take the catamarans out but this trip they were waiting on a part to repair the one the resort has since a recent storm took the second one out to sea! What makes the Hacienda amazing is #2- the staff. We were so happy to re-encounter many staff we have known for years such as Jose Rubio from Kotori and Antonio from Abeje. Nateri from Portabello. Also Jose from the grill. We became Herencia members this trip and met new friends in Janelly, Daniel and Gabriel who are the butlers. Everything we asked they made happen in a seamless and excellent customer service way. We also met Felix in the Herencia balcony who made us feel welcome and cared for. We were blessed to see Patricio, Doc Rojas, Joshua and Luis in sales. Someone who stands out is Jonathan in beach activities who arranged our kayaks and gave me the most beautiful conch shell he found as a gift. It’s the little things like this that make the experience amazing. We were blessed to rent a car with Marco at the resort to be able to visit Fisheman’s Village resort to see our friend Marcial and hotel manager Antonio. It is like coming home to go there and the food, hot tub and beach are also so amazing! We didn’t get to see our long time friend Gina Mora because she was working at the Royal Sunset in Cancun and we didn’t rent a car for the week this time like we usually do, but we will see her next time! We have been owners in sunset group since 2003 and have never regretted it. We look forward to spending more time in paradise in the next several years!! Especially in our retirement! Hope you will read this and give Hacienda Tres Rios or Fisherman’s a week to find your own slice of paradise!!
