Our first stay in Richmond and whilst the King's Head had it's faults we liked it and would return. The hotel could not be better located on the market place in the centre of Richmond, and building itself is a splendid mix of traditional with a more contemporary bar and restaurant area. Our room was a standard double which was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Any failings could be put down to the historic nature of the building, and therefore forgiven. Service for breakfast was on the tardy side of relaxed, but when it arrived the food was very nice, this was also the case for dinner but here one of our main courses left a little to be be desired on the taste front.

The staff at reception, health club, bar and restaurant, especially Sandra and her team at breakfast made our visit so wonderful. We were very impressed with the customer service from reception on our arrival, and the friendly approach from the staff at the health club, the bar. We had 5*** service at breakfast, all the tables were cleared so quickly and cleaned in readiness for the breakfast guests. The breakfast selection was delicious and so varied. Sandra and the other ladies could not have made our breakfast experience any more enjoyable, she was so focused on the guests receiving a fab experience, also the receptionist when she sorted out a room issue within minutes on our arrival.
