Harbor House Inn

I booked this hotel under previos ownership in 2021 for the eclipse. The new owner cancelled the reservation to engage in price gauging and it is too late to book elsewhere. This level of dishonesty should not be tolerated and is an embarrassment to the otherwise wonderful town of Sackets Harbor. Please to do support this hotel in anyway.

We chose to stay here because it was walking distance to the historical site, quaint shops and restaurants. Our room was quite large, modern. It had a table that you could eat at. While it was expensive in the Summer (as expected) it was quite nice. Being able to park at the Inn and walk everywhere was a big advantage. The continental breakfast area was right outside of our room. It's self-serve but had several options. Another bonus...they had umbrellas guests could use which was great because it rained a lot on the day we were there. Would definitely return.

We loved our stay! Our room was gorgeous! Very well designed with a spa feel! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The a/c window unit was sufficient; however, not sure how well it would cool in hot temperatures? We look forward to returning!

Harbor house is an excellent place to stay. It is in a totally refurbished former packing plant, and it has a bright, sunny vibe that feels like something in New England. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and more personal than a typical hotel. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with new fixtures, thick towels, bathrobes, and a night light. The bed was comfortable, if not a bit noisy. The staff is really pleasant and welcoming as well. My only wish was that there had been a table and a light on each side of the bed. The location is outstanding, steps away from a good Italian restaurant (Goodfellos), a local bar (Sacket's Harbor Brewing), and a great lunch place (Chicken Coop). It is an easy walk to the battlefield and Navy Point. Breakfast was a simple continental one: each floor seems to have its own breakfast bar with muffins, bagels and a Keurig coffee maker. We would recommend it and would definitely go back.

This boutique hotel certainly has a comfortable, welcoming vibe. We stayed in Rm 207, Queen with daybed (trundle). Overall, we liked our stay and would recommend to others. Pros: friendly, welcoming by front desk staff (Vince); clean; nice decor; comfortable bed; nice shower; large bathroom; comfortable chair and daybed; allowed us to keep personal beverages in a common-space refrigerator (no fridge in room; however, were told they could accommodate if given some notice). Cons: no exhaust fan in bathroom; window AC unit very close to bed; no desk (only an issue if you need to do computer work). Very basic breakfast—prepackaged muffins, bagels, instant oatmeal; Keurig coffee machine. Accommodating to allow us an extra hour for late checkout (really appreciated that). Excellent location in town with several dining options less than 5 minute walk away.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in downtown Sackets Harbor! The rooms and decor are lovely, and high quality. Parking is a bit tight, but only because Sackets harbor is very busy! Front desk staff were welcoming and friendly!

Beware!! I booked a room at the Harbor House with two queen four-post canopy beds with a soaking tub on July 18th 2023 for a stay on August 18th 2023. This was a gift for my best friend’s birthday and I specifically got the soaking tub for my friend because she has been experiencing extreme physical pain. I also wanted a fancy room to stay in to celebrate her birthday. I received an email on August 13th from Harbor House confirming our stay. The email specifically said “It’s almost time to check into your 2 Queen soaking.” I replied to the email confirming our arrival time on August 18th and confirmed we would only have one car. My friend also called the morning of our arrival to confirm there was a refrigerator in our room and they specifically looked up the name that was under my reservation and confirmed there was a refrigerator in the room. We both took time off of work on Friday afternoon to drive to Harbor House from Rochester NY which is well over a 2 hour drive. When we arrived, we were told that our room was double booked. It was explained to us that the people that had stayed in the room the previous night were allowed to extend their stay. We were told there were no other rooms available with the soaking tub and the two canopy beds. We were offered a room which I wouldn’t have gone barefoot in. It looked like it was where the kept housekeeping things were kept. When the front desk person opened the door to the room there were offing, I took a step in and saw there wasn’t even a shower curtain in the shower. It was a dark corner room completely outdated. Please know we reserved this hotel specifically for a fancy room and drove a long way specifically for the experience of this room. There are plenty of places to stay on Lake Ontario between Rochester and Sacket Harbor that are better than the room we were offered. The front desk attendant was apologetic but in no way helpful. They just kept saying there was nothing that could be done. We were not willing to stay in a room we wouldn’t take our shoes off in since the carpet was so old and ended up driving back to Rochester. I had never been to Sacket’s Harbor before and I will never go back.

What a great place! Nicely decorated and modern rooms. Little extras like board games in the rooms. Continental breakfast in the morning, and close to restaurants. The building has some local history, which is also a nice feature.

Charming inn in the heart of town! This inn has been recently renovated with beautiful Pottery Barn furnishings, lovely woodworking on the doors, and hallway and thoughtful touches in each room including a wreath on each door! Buffet breakfast bar right outside the room to grab coffee and a light meal. I’d definitely stay here again!
