Hotel Casa du Velo

Recently, on a work trip to Armenia, Colombia, a colleague booked us two nights at a small boutique hotel,Casa Du Velo, in the amazing hills near Filandia. Although its niche is biking groups or those who love biking, it was an incredible place for my husband and I to retreat and enjoy the beauty of Colombia. David, was so attentive, it felt like we had our own butler LOL. Our evening meal was like dining in a 5 star restaurant. The service was amazing and rooms were very clean and peaceful. I loved the outdoor patio in the gorgeous gardens outside our room. You must love dogs and cats (actually, one cat, Tom), which we do, as they are a part of the experience. Highly recommend! 10 rooms, so great for groups of all kinds.

We loved visiting Filandia with our family. The hotel was extremely nice. The food was incredible. I'm still thinking about the fresh juice. The owner was responsive to our needs and helped make arrangements for excursions. Bonus, he spoke perfect English. I would love to visit again.

We seek out small hotels in beautiful settings, and this is one of the best we've ever stayed at! The owners, Juan y Laura, are passionate about hospitality and making you feel at home in their home. The design of the hotel is incredible, allowing you to experience the area and take in the view. The menu is fairly extensive for a small place, and everything we had was fabulous. We loved the dogs and cats that live there, the fire in the evening, and the massage was REALLY good. After I left I had to message all the cycling enthusiasts in my life (I am not one) about their need to come here. It was a beautiful and warm experience and we hope to return one day.

We were just there in June 2021. Perfectly located right in the middle of the Colombian Coffee triangle, the hotel is a great spot from which to get to know all the highlights of the region. With its stunning views, excellent food (plus coffee which is, of course, amazing), dependable wi-fi and helpful and friendly staff, it was also a great place for my wife to work from while I went out riding in the morning. Juan and Laura are impeccable hosts that made us feel like we were at home even as they were pointing out the best nearby haunts and rides and helping us sort out the logistics. They also did a wonderful job of catering for our baby, though if you're there with a toddler you need to be aware of the shallow decorative pools. The cycling was all that and more, with beautiful old-school bikes on offer with new-school gearing for the steep stuff, as well as e-bikes, and a fully stocked bike shop and workshop on-site. Juan knows all the roads and stewarded me throughout, even setting it up to go on one of my bucket-list rides up La Linea and doing it with me. Outside of that pretty much everywhere that's worth going is less than an hour's drive or a few hours by bike, riding or driving up gorgeous and well-kept bucolic mountain roads. It may sound cliche but honestly the only bad thing about our experience there was having it come to an end.

A perfect cycling boutique hotel. By Colombian standards this was an expensive place. By North American standards this was a deal. Although we are active cyclists we were just passing through (2 nights) and only went on one 40k EBike ride. It was great but we certainly didn’t take advantage of the attention to detail in this cycling hotel (about 10 rooms). Juan and Laura made us feel welcome and special. There was an obvious love for their dream. The hotel was modern with a Scandinavian type architecture. Every detail was perfect. The service was great. The food was very good. The rooms were exceptionally clean, modern and spacious. There were 2 dogs and 2 cats that kept us company. The climate near Filandia is ideal, with temperatures never getting too hot. The topography around is stunning, but it’s not for the timid. The hills are long and steep. In fact it’s a great training ground for world class cyclists. I would 100% recommend this to avid and exceptional cyclists.

Es un hotel espectacular , en un sitio precioso, con unas instalaciones cómodas , modernas , llenas de detalles para el huésped. La atención es muy personalizada ; David es un anfitrión increíblemente amable , esta pendiente todo el día , te ayuda para planear tu estadía. vale la pena qued**** , y vale la pena cada peso pagado . Excelente opción en Filandia Quindio. Para viajes de pareja, amigos, ciclismo, senderismo etc. Un hotel bien ubicado, con todas las amenidades, excelente servicio por parte de David y su equipo. Muy cerca de Filandia y Salento. La temperatura del lugar agradable, la vista , las noches de estrellas. 100% recomendado. Volvería mil veces.

Excelente opción tanto para ciclistas como el público general (fui con mi marido e hija de un año). Ubicación privilegiada, habitaciones modernas, la comida espectacular, personal muy amable. Muy recomendable, sin duda de los mejores hoteles de la zona.
