Palacio de Samaniego

We had not anticipated staying here but our hotel in LaGuardia let us know there was an all night party in the square so this was a last minute decision. We couldn’t have been happier. The staff was excellent, the room was large, AC worked well, very comfortable bed! We had lunch and the food was great (hamburger and Spanish omelette). We also stayed in for dinner one night and the food was outstanding! We did the tasting menu. It’s well worth the money. Not exaggerating to say Michelin quality.

There is a lot to recommend this hotel. Beautiful building, superb design throughout, inventive food and good staff in the restaurant. However the Reception staff are surly and the housekeeping staff forgetful. Despite booking this six months in advance, our Malvasia Junior Suite (appears to be Accessible) overlooks the bike park; has a single sink, no bath, is quite dark and is at the top of the stairs despite having asked for a quiet room. Whilst the room decor and bathroom are very good there are some omissions like no conditioner and a faulty toilet that continually has water running. I phoned the day before to ask for a Suite called Tempranillo and was told the hotel was full. I personally would have thought having booked six months ago that we might have been allocated a decent suite. In asking for the Manager on Friday I was told they were off work till Monday. Furthermore the receptionist proceeded to argue with me about the room view telling me no room had a view. Given that I had booked a second room called Viura this was not really true. That room has a view of the gardens and mountains beyond. On our second day there were no bathroom mats put in the room and wet towels in the basket were not changed on night one either. The two small bottles of water in the fridge were not replaced and Reception told us you only get two bottles on your first day. No more than that. Overall I would recommend the Palacio but they really need to train their staff better.

What an outstanding hotel in a wonderful part of Spain. The decor throughout the hotel, as well as in the rooms, is unique and absolutely beautiful. Beyond the aesthetics, which are superb, each room was spotlessly clean, so comfortable, and thoroughly well-appointed with everything one could possibly need. The best asset of this hotel, however, are the people who work there. Every single person, from reception to concierge to wait staff, was wonderful. Their friendliness, warmth, and hospitality were exceptional. as was their eagerness to help us in any way we needed. The little town, and the surrounding areas and towns, are charming. There are many wineries in the vicinity and the vistas as you drive around are stunning. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Palacio de Samaniego and would not hesitate to stay there again.

The Hotel located in Samaniego, steps away form all great vineries of La Rioja, offers a unique experience! The venue has 9 suites, very large and taste full decorated, large and spacious! The Art is the center of the hotel, with a large privat collection of the Rotschild Family. We spend 2 nights with friends and enjoyed also the excellent breakfast. The Menu offer for dinner could be better and larger! will certainly recommend it!

I am a Spanish citizen writing reviews in English for everyone looking for good experiences in one of the best countries of the world Samaniego is one of those special places that you find by coincidence that you cannot miss. The place is really cool. Every detail has been considered in the decoration with original works of art. The service is fantastic, specially the maitre who makes perfect recommendations without overselling. To the contrary she recommends depending on the level of appetite of the diners. You can choose between two tasting menus or a la carte. We decide to go for la carte and really enjoyed it. I ma not recommending any specific course because it would be better for you to discover it. If you are traveling, it might be a good idea to stay at the hotel.

This hotel is top quality! Absolutely gorgeous decorations with lots of artefacts from the owners collection from Africa. From the bed linens to the decorations it is truly stunning. I couldn’t imagine anywhere that is more beautifully decorated than here. Then top that with wonderful professional yet friendly staff and it gets even better. Oh and I haven’t even mentioned the food yet!! Divine, superb, what other words can I find? We were enthralled at the smaller tasting menu, the asparagus ice cream was awesome and then the breakfast was excellent too. Gorgeous creamy scrambled eggs and much more. I can’t praise this place highly enough and would return in a heartbeat. Special mention goes to Mirin and David who made our trip truly special. Thank you!

You could not create a luxury hotel like this if you did not have funds like the Rothschild's behind your venture. It is very descrete, and you have to walk up to the front door to check that this is your hotel. This is an old Palacio, which has been meticulously converted into a 9 room hotel. No expense has been spared. Our bedroom was elegant and comfortable. The bathroom was suberb. The restaurant served us an interesting tasting menu ar dinner. And the service was (mainly) good. They are still trainng staff, but that did not empinge on our enjoyment Breakfast was adequite, but probably should be better in a hotel of this quality (and price). Covid means that they serve your meal to the table (no buffet), but the items served are limited. The York ham was "wet" and the jamon serrano was nt top quality. Coffee was cold. The staff were very good, and extremely helpful. Reception organised a couple of tasting for us in local wineries. A tip for clients of the hotel would be to get them to organise in advance, so you can get visits when and where you want There is a small pool in the garden My overall opinon is that this hotel is one of the nicest we have ever stayed at. It clearly aimes to be the best in Rioja, and prices will no doubt go up next year.

Come intitolo sono veramente dispiaciuto raccontando l'esperienza. Palazzo d'epoca perfettamente ristrutturato situato nel centro del paese. Ricevimento alla reception formale ma molto esauriente. Il palazzo è pieno di opere d'arte come le stanze. La nostra che dava sulla via principale era arredata in maniera sontuosa con arredi di grandissimo livello. Area piscina piccina, lettini non sufficienti e idem per gli asciugamani. Cena di livello con pochi piatti ma presentati bene e saporiti. Servizio di sala ottimo. Fino a dopo cena quindi tutto molto bene ma rientrando dal giretto digestivo scopriamo che a lato del palazzo si terrà la festa paesana che significherà discoteca all'aperto fino alle SEI della mattina. Impossibile dormire con 80 decibel tutta la notte. Informiamo del problema il portiere di notte che ci dice che hanno il permesso e quindi non servirebbe a nulla chiamare la polizia. Alla fine la direzione ammette che pur sapendo non ci avevano avvertito offrendoci l'intero soggiorno da noi rifutato in quanto non avremmo potuto dopo quella notte continuare a stare in quel posto. Comunque ci hanno offerto la notte, colazione e cena per precisione. Rimane la grossa delusione, sarebbe bastato un po' più di trasparenza che ci avrebbe permesso di scegliere per tempo

Es la segunda vez que vamos y volveremos. Tranquilo, pequeño, muy familiar, exquisito gusto decoracion, servicio impecable. La comida muy buena y el desayuno toda una fiesta para el paladar. Es yna autentica maravilla.
