Avis : The Grand Scarborough

Love the grand hotel been there a few times never had a problem, I’ve stayed at multiple hotels in Scarborough and the grand has always been my favourite

Over 30 mins queuing to check in then finally went to room, the room was disgusting not the cleanest mould damp on walls what made paint peel off, squished bugs on ceiling above bed I couldn't sleep was so paranoid it fall on me, the room smelt disgusting, first time staying here and definitely the last. Was so paranoid the bed were filthy I tried to sleep on top of covers.

Very poor facilities, the floor, bed, and windows were all very old. The bathroom door couldn't close properly. The hairdryer made strange noises when turned on, followed by a burning smell. The soundproofing was terrible, I could clearly hear people talking outside the room. There was no air conditioning, only a fan. Not sure if it was due to the burning smell from the hairdryer, but the smoke detector went off twice.

great location and great we could take our dog we will be back very soon as there is lots to explore in and around scarborough

50 minute wait to check in. Room had not been cleaned when eventually got our key. Was like a maze trying to find our rooms and only 1 lift to get to it. Awful experience

This is Scarborough's most imposing hotel with a lengthy history. It does not have the most modern facilities, but we found it clean, comfortable and efficient. The impression is on a scale comparable with a large cruise ship, and it was good to sit in the lounge at the foot of the major staircase and enjoy a couple of drinks surrounded by the buzz of all the fun and activity around us. Our room was large and warm, with fantastic views over the bay, and with a new and comfortable bed. The hotel makes no pretension to be a 5* one, and you get what you pay for. But we were not disappointed, far from it.

Good sized double room and bathroom. Generally all was as expected, and although housekeeping did not come in to refresh supplies, I could easily obtain more teabags etc in the reception area. I was surprised there was no bath mat, thus the bathroom floor became quite wet unnecessarily. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and I would recommend this hotel for it’s location.

No WiFi, no soap, hole in wall, had to pay extra to be above basement level just so we could get signal, great location, stuck in the 50s

Stayed at the Grand Hotel for my 60th birthday with my son and we were put on the forth floor with a lovely sea view we had a drink in the bar down stairs before we retired and you could feel the vibrance of the hotel

The location of the hotel, services and amenities are very good. The rooms are also spacious but not properly cleaned as there are cobwebs beside the radiators.

Toilet floor is dirty, rubbish from previous guest,tv no connections, dam smell on hallway going to rooms.

Love this hotel we always stay here when visiting Scarborough. The staff are lovely and helpful. The rooms are dated yes but they are clean and the beds are super comfortable. Perfect location for a night out in Scarborough only 10 minutes walk from the station

It was terrible and verry horrible the beds had hair on the sheets and mold on the walls
