Sandpebble Beach Club Surfside Beach a Ramada by Wyndham

Condo was clean and spacious. It is out dated ( furniture, decor) but functional. 2 bathrooms was a plus. The ocean view is stunning, beach not crowded and the ocean is literally steps away. Many restaurants nearby, several within an easy beach walk, no car needed! Booking was easy and if need to call, staff responsive. Two negatives…a hot tub is not available and looks like it has not been for several years according to other reviews. It is there but cordoned off. Suggest take it off your list of amenities as well as the pool pictures as the pool does not exist. Proximity to ocean makes up for no hot tub! Also, we were not given the internet access codes and could not get them until the next day because the office was closed by 5 pm. Suggest posting that information in the condo. An overall enjoyable stay.

Clearly these condos are not in great condition. We had a terrible experience with them on 12/24/2023. Due to things not working (upon check-in 12/23/2023) tv's, sliding glass door sealed shut, we were moved to another unit 2 floors up. (I originally stipulated we needed 1st floor due to handicapped husband) We were moved from 1st floor to the 3rd floor!!!! Although they had an elevator, this was absolutely NOT the point. On 2 occasions the elevator did NOT want to work!!!!!!! Our entire plans for Christmas Eve day were ruined as we had to wait for hours before we could be transferred!!!! In the unit we were moved to we discovered the can opener did not work, lights flickered when used, bathroom paper holder broke, the waste basket in kitchen was a disgrace (filthy!) I took pictures of the waste basket AND the broken t-paper holder in bathroom. This place NEVER offered any compensation for the issues we had suffered!!! For the amount of money we paid, we will NEVER go back there! A word of advise.......stay away from Sandpebble Beach Club; they should have paid ME to stay there. A lesson well learned. I could never give them a good review!!!!!

The condo was really clean, roomy and well stocked. The location is great. A few blocks to the downtown Surfside area . Disappointed in the fact that the whole ground level was cordoned off with yellow tape. Could not use any of the chairs, BBQ Hot Tub or access the beach. Had to use the public beach access next to the bullding. Would have liked notification that this was not available before our arrival. Also Needs repairs done to the exterior and roof from storm damage.

I will first do the pros of this place, Our 2 bedroom unit was extremely clean, kitchen is well stocked, the bed was very comfortable and great newer sheets. Balcony over looking the beach and ocean is the best, I love listening to the sound of the ocean (my hubby not so much). There is an elevator which is great for loading groceries and luggage Nice to have a washer and dryer right in the unit. As a bit of an environmental nut I appreciated that they have bins at ground level for recycling. I think for what we had the price is very good. Now the Cons: this is not a beach CLUB, no pool, not sure why there were pictures with a pool as apparently it was filled in in 2017?? no hot tub, its there and filled but all taped off, BBQ is there but we were told we couldn't use it, no lounge chairs, and no place to sit and eat outside (there is a table and 4 chairs on your balcony) not sure why they charge a resort fee as there is no way this is a resort. There is no on site office, but the few times we had to call the main office our calls were answered quickly but we also received conflicting information, yes you can use the BBQ, no you can't, yes you can smoke on the balcony (hubby is a cigar smoker) no your can't. Turns out, yes you can smoke as long as the doors are closed. Which is only fair. The building has suffered some damage on the outside from one of the storms that should be addressed. There was also some garbage outside at the back that I picked up. Also a plastic vacuum hose and a wash cloth sat down there for the whole week we were there, I am sure it had been there for sometime. Someone needs to be aware of this and have them picked up, it just looks tacky. All in all we throughly enjoyed our visit but would have been nice to know we could not use the BBQ ahead of time as we purchased food on our way to check in.

This was a great location for me. I didn’t want to be in the busy visitor trap area even though it’s February. The balcony gave an unobstructed view of the ocean. I fell asleep every night with the sounds of the waves. The bed was comfortable. Loved having a kitchen available although I rarely used it. Issues: no one cleans the tracks of the windows or sliding glass door. There is no screen on the sliding glass doors. Both sliding glass doors are so damaged you cannot see the view. The kitchen table had chairs that were beyond repair. The front door lock broke and it took over 4 hours to fix which kept me hostage in the condo until it was repaired. It was my birthday. I was there alone. And it was dinner time. There is no “desk” at the condo to check in. Even though there is a sign pointing to an office. It doesn’t exist. I was charged a resort fee when there is no resort. There is no hot tub. The walkway is blocked off. Cannot use the beach chairs. There is nothing that makes this a resort. Although I enjoyed my stay, I would not be returning to this “resort”. It was over priced and too many negative aspects for me to enjoy my stay to it’s fullest.

Keeping in mind nothing is perfect. This stay was the closest to perfect. The word CLUB should be removed. OUTSIDE: Deceiving versus the inside of the Condo; unit 204. The building can use a paint job to meet the beautiful location it resides. A few steps to the sand, plenty of loungers and a picnic table. The 2 grills can be upgraded. Hot tub did not work and that was the only special amenities offered; no pool. Great location, close to stores and restaurants. INSIDE: GOOD: The Condo was newly updated, peaceful, very comfortable. When you walk in there is a sense of home. 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms.( King, set of twin, and a sofa bed) Plenty of closet space and drawers. Furniture/decor was awesome. Beds were remarkably comfortable. Kitchen was spacious and equipped with everything but Food; LOL. We cooked and ate out. Nothing seemed secondhand or cheap. Washer, dryer, broom, dustpan, iron, and ironing board was also provided. BAD: (nothing major) The living room curtain had some sort of brown spots on them. The patio door May have had a broken seal but can see out. We kept them open anyway. The Master bedroom window screen had a hole in it, and the bathrooms faucet spouts had green mold underneath. Looks like housekeeping simply shines the top of them. Maintenance (Dennis) was there in less than 5 minutes to repair a very small issue. He was very kind and friendly every time we crossed him coming and going. Otherwise; all transactions are completed over the phone including code for apartment entry during your stay. Maintanence professional was the only property personnel was seen the entire stay. We were provided with the peace, rest, relaxation and comfort we were seeking. If you want more action, crowds, noise, ect. it’s about a 15 min or longer drive and this would not be the place for you. WE ARE BOOKING AGAIN!!!! Loved it!! The place is spacious. Love the location on the beach. The balcony furniture needs to be updated and higher table and chairs to see over the rail. the inside furniture needs updating it is worn. The tv needs to be updated and there needs to be something in the room that tells you the channels and the network. Each tv is different and the networks are different on each tv. The sink and commode gets stopped up easily. Just needs some updates.
