WE spent 2 nights with my 8 Years old daughter, and WE really appreciate our stay. All the staff IS so nice and helpfull. The réception and restaurant/bar staff, Kali and the cleaning lady, all were smiling and caring ! Thé room was so Big , and my daughter likes so much thé bed with the "moustiquaire" 😉 You feel liké you are all alone cause all the room are well distanced. Thé beach is juste on the other side of the road. WE recommand 200% !! And WE wish WE could stay longer ..

Staying at Maravu was easily one of the highlights of my Fiji trip. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I was able to see and do everything I wanted to. On my first day, Rafa took me all over the island to all the sites I wanted to see, and he was a constant friend during my whole stay, which I extended twice because I was enjoying it so much. Cale and Cara were also so warm welcoming- they really made me feel at home when I was halfway around the world and traveling solo. Kava and karaoke at night were some of the best times I had in Fiji. I would 100% stay here next time I come to visit Teveuni.

I've been travelling around Fiji for the past 2.5 weeks and my time at Maravu was easily one of my top highlights. The location is beautiful and the staff helped to create an amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend the snorkeling trip to Qamea Island with Mateo, Kali and Bali. Diva's food is fantastic. And finally the biggest of shout outs to my brother Rafa!

The best option in Taveuni both for family and solo travellers. The prices are affordable, the hotel is incredible on a little hill under the coconut and mango trees. The restaurants is fresh with different menu specialq everyday. The best part is to be able to meet other guests and share stories, everyone is like one big family there. The doorm are very spacious and confortable! But this place wouldn't be the same without the staff. The entire crew will make your stay unforgettable, the receptionists, the kitchen crew, the activity guys, EVERYONE! Special shout-out to Mariana, Maria, Rafa, Kali, Paul, Beki 🥰

I stayed at Maravu with two of my close friends on a trip to Fiji. Our time whilst staying at the Maravu Taveuni Lodge was nothing short of incredible. Whilst the hotel itself, is not a 5-star hotel, the service and attention we recieved from the amazing staff was definitely 5-star service. The staff took the time to learn our names, organise incredible trips around the island, give recommendations for places to eat, and always asked us how our day was going. The lack of power between 10am-4pm in our rooms did not make much of a difference to our stay as we were either out exploring this incredible island or spent time in the pool. The main reception area has wifi at all times during the day so if you were planning on staying here but had concerns about access to the internet there are a number of places to sit and use the free wifi the hotel has to offer. Whilst we had a few bugs in the room, it was not something that was unexpected due to the beautiful tropical nature that surrounded us. Overall, this hotel exceeded all expectations and my friends and I cannot wait to one day return to this beautiful place!!

The staff at the Maravu was very helpful and attentive to us including Kara and Lavinia. We also were welcomed by Cali who played a nice song for us on his guitar. The bure we stayed in was very large and spacious with hardwood floors and the size of the individual rooms was great. Finally the towels there were nice and thick. Before commenting on the things there that did not go so well, I should state that when we were at the Maravu it was likely still in what I would describe as "Covid Recovery Mode". Also my wife and I are not 5 star hotel types in any way but we do expect that basic standards of cleanliness be in place. So if you're thinking about staying there you may want to follow-up on the concerns I've noted below. The bure we stayed in for 5 nights was filthy and so many places in it had fresh evidence of ants and spider webs. It was so dirty that we considered detail cleaning it ourselves with Lysol and a mop. However, we decided to ask the staff to clean it again. After they cleaned it, the room was still extremely dirty and the spider webs were still there. Because we could never get the bure to an acceptable state of cleanliness and the furniture was filthy, we searched in vain everyday for a clean place to set down our bags. Finally, the windows in our room were glass louvers and many of them were broken to a point where we couldn't close them completely. The main dining and lounge areas weren't clean either and had very limited gluten free options. As a result, we only ate there the first day and always ate somewhere else after that. When we arrived, we were also informed that the resort was generating their own electricity using a diesel generator and that they would be regularly turning off the power ever day we were there during the hours from 10AM to 4PM. This daily power shut off caused the temperature in our bure to soar and put our groceries in the refrigerator at risk of spoiling. However the most disappointing thing to us about these power outages was that we didn't know about this situation until we arrived and the fact that the resort staff told us that all resorts on the island shut of their generators at the same time they did everyday. We later found out this was false from tourists we met on Taveuni who were staying elsewhere. The resort also has a lot of grass in between the bures and they do not use lawn mowers to cut that grass quickly. Instead, 4-5 men walked around and cut the grass using gas powered string trimmers producing noise for 4-5 hours - something made worse by the daily power generator shutoff and the fact that we had to keep the windows open in the bure to keep it cooler. Finally, unfortunately like many resorts in Fiji, the Maravu does not have safes in the bure so we had to keep our valuables in a locked filing cabinet in the main office. Fortunately nothing was stolen but it was discouraging to have to carry our valuables around with us most of the time.

After a brief mis-understanding about pool towels, our stay here got better and better every day! Such a lovely property, on a fair steep hillside across the main road from the ocean. Such a beautiful view of the reef! Our Garden view Bure had a great view of the lovely maintained ,park like, front property and the sea. The bure itself was older, but very comfortable, with a small fridge, great king bed, a.c., fan, kettle, tea ,coffee etc., outdoor shower, and a great front porch for "happy hour".It had a real Fiji vibe, which is what we were after. The pool on property was still open while decking was being replaced around the perimeter, and was nice. It appeared dirty, but that was just because the bottom was not painted blue ,like most pools. It was also quite deep, at over 6 feet! The restaurant on site, "Divas Delight", is run separately from the accommodations, and is excellent! Dinners were limited to 2 or 3 entrees every day, but man, everything was great! The best food we had in Fiji! Location of the resort is very good, only a 10 minute walk up the hill to the airport, add another 5 minutes, and you get to a couple of different stores/gas stations, where you can buy snacks, food, and cheaper cold beers. The one closest to the airport has the coldest beer we found in Fiji, at only 6FJD for a 750 ml bottle. It's great to find a cold beer for a reasonable price, as anyone who has been to Fiji can probably tell you, alcoholic beverages here are darn expensive! You can catch the rare buses on the main road right in front, and they are very cheap, and quite interesting! The resort offers various local tour opportunities, we took the local buses to a couple sites on our own, and saved lots. No regrets . If you are coming or going from Vanua Levu on any of the now 3 different ferries, it is only a 20 minute drive from the newish Gov't pier . I really miss the evening Kava sing alongs at the Maravu! The staff members who do it every night 7pm til? are the greatest! Other places you are lucky to get a tiny cup of Kava a week, but "Zack" was generous of his time/entertainment, and Kava! And it was not "weak" like at other places we stayed. Staff of the resort are mostly related, and all really great! In hindsight, I am really missing our time here.

This is an ex-resort turned into an affordable boutique hostel, but honestly i wouldn't even call it a hostel except the fact that they offer the dorm room style accomodations. what made our experience truly memorable was the staff. Mariana and Zac became our friends during our stay. Mariana was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and offered/suggested activites and expereinces. Mateo was the cool surfer/fisherman on site. He offered his knowledge on the area and made adventure suggestions. if i am to travel to Taveuni again this will be where i stay
