This resort is situated approx. 500 mtr inside from the national highway road, out of which approx. 200 mtr road is too narrow. Google map tricked us two times how to take the exit from the main road. Reception, ayurvedic center, swimming pool etc. are in the main land while the rooms are in a small island type area, which is separated by a small river (hardly 50 meter breadth) before joining the sea. There is 24 x 7 traditional type boat arranged by the hotel itself. Parking space in front of the reception is limited, hardly enough for 5 or 6 cars. Reception staff were friendly, the boat driver too. When you reach the room for the first time, you may have a feeling that the rooms are bit old and the surroundings are not as what you expected. But after some time, you will get acquainted with it and start to enjoy it. The (part) sea view from the rooms are good, in the morning you can see the views of local fishermen busy with their work. The "estuary" area is not so clean unfortunately. There is a way to the beach through the back side of the restaurant. Myself & wife used the ayurvedic center for full body massage, which was excellent and the therapists were professionally trained. Restaurant have only limited options, but the food was ok. We have ordered tea & pakora for the evening and chapati & grilled chicken for the dinner, both were good and not so spicy or oily. Breakfast was enough with fruits, Idly, Dosa, stuffed poratha, omelet etc. and restaurant in charge (sorry, I forgot his name, Mr. Thampi or something similar) was very friendly. Overall, I liked the resort and the a**osphere and suggest it to my fellow travelers, if you like a peaceful and silent place. Try to get the upper floor rooms of the resort for a good view.

Exelent place, wonderfull staff. I will be back next year. Very clean. Super Ayurveda. We where living on the island, where you go with boat. It is so nice. Nice swiming pool, silent place. Yoga everyday good organization. Free airport transfer.

I spent the most amazing time at this resort! Throughout my vacation, I was made to feel incredibly pampered by the staff's friendliness and attentiveness. I write this as I am sitting at the balcony of my room at the resort. Very seldom would you get a property which is spread in three parts and which gives you a landscape view as this one. You see the sea, a barren beach, a river(back water) and lush greenery lined by coconut tree. Yes it's a 15 years old property, but does it matter when it's well kept, have smiling and courteous staff and good food. When u sit at the balcony of superior king size room and it's raining, the view and experience is just mesmerizing. If you do not like much crowd, i dare say that this resort is much better than sitting at any beaches nearby. Vipin and Prabhu gives you very caring service when u cross the Killi river to the resturant. The beds have good hard mattress which makes your sleep comfortable, The bathtubs are big with hot and cold water. If you come to Kovalam, I think you will miss something if you dont stay here. The more you stay the more you love this place, the initial look might make you little thinking though.

Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort is a lovely and pituresque spot, not far from Trivandrum airport. Easy access to sights and Trivandrum city. The taxi took off from the main road and drove a narrow passage, - then a true idyll opens up, with a view of the river and the restaurant building on the peninsula, - the sandbank and the Arabian Sea. The sunset is beautiful. Here you live close to the authentic village life. The reception building, with free parking outside, has rooms on three floors, with lovely views – spacious and clean, Wi-Fi good, pillows hard. Here is a well-maintained pool area, with a children's section (water approx. 55 cm) – 160cm, and several rooms. Here is also the building for doctor's appoin**ents, massage, and yoga/meditation for body flexibility and mind. First class Ayurvedic trea**ent, Pushba gave the best massage ever. The boat trip to the island, with the restaurant building and more rooms, is a fantastic and very special experience - something I have never experienced anywhere else. Food is excellent and freshly cooked. Waiters polite and very helpful, thanks to Vibhu and Pramod. On the island (which is actually a peninsula), - hidden behind the restaurant, there is a gate to the village, open during daytime. You can take a short morning trip, - or walk the 5 km to Kovalam, may be swimming? You can easily take a tuk-tuk back, - a short distance and very reasonably priced. The beach lives its own life. During the monsoon in June and July I was told it was gone (one could not see it). Now in March, most days I could walk through the gate, then 100 m towards the jetty, right, and onto the beach. Morning walk in lovely sand, while the sea roared. Other days the sea swelled like a river, separating the beach from the jetty. Fishermen come from night fishing, working with boats and nets. I could see them on the road towards Kovalam, - and also when I went the beach to the end, several teams of fishermen. Very fascinating, and fun to experience. Would not miss it. I thought I had missed all the festivals, - but luckily I could experience one in the nearest village, it lasted a few days, little noisy, but I loved it. I was invited to participate, and felt very welcome. Ten years ago I also stayed at Beach and Lake, - and the family that still runs the place felt like family, they are friendly and kind-hearted people. Dr. Gowtham must be mentioned, he is ´one of a kind´, up to date and always willing to help no matter what is involved. Also Dr. A****ha, experienced and helpful. The staff are very polite, and seem to enjoy, and radiate kindness and care. I highly recommend Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort.

Place with an amazing view of Beach and Lake.Excellent hospitality.Super service.Staffs are really polite and helpful.Will recommend this place if you are looking for a Staycation in Trivandrum near Kovalam . I also had Ayurveda massage here which was the best I had here.Food was also very tasty with lot of choices

Pros This resort is located in between river and sea. The location is very good. We we checked in the tv has no hindi chanel but we requested a few and they added those. Staff is very helpful specially Vibhu, who helped us with all this. Cons Way to the see could have been better. Name of hotel is misguiding since neither there is lake nor it's on a beach. TV is very small. Can keep. Bigger TV in the rooms . Overall our experience is very good. We would like to come back to this hotel.
