From the write up on the bookings.com website, this sounded an ideal place to stay, as we (my wife and mum (staying in a separate room)), were going to a wedding locally. I got to the hotel at 5pm to check-in, and was kind of surprised to be checking in via a telephone with a button to reach the owner. I got the room combination locks (rooms 2 & 3), and dropped off the bags in the rooms. When we returned later, I gave my mum her room code and went our ways. I was hoping for a good night's sleep - but unfortunately the bed was quite lumpy and the pillows quite flat. The room size wasn't what I expected at all. It was very small and not really big enough for two people. The en-suite was in what almost looked like a wardrobe with two mirrored glass doors. It was very tight in there, and there were a number of cleaning issues that I made management aware of, as didn't feel them to be acceptable at all. Unfortunately, we didn't get a very good night's sleep - as although there was a blind, this was useless when the sun shone through at dawn. It really needed curtains. So was up before 7am on a Sunday and breakfast was at 9am. Breakfast was the first time I had met the owners, and the lady was very pleasant to chat to and helpful. We only opted for a continental rather than a cooked (due to a meal a few hours later). Upon checkout, I explained about the cleaning issues and sleep issues etc & she said that this would be raised at the team meeting.
