We had our first visit to Ardtara House on Friday 26th April. You could hardly get a bigger welcome as the one we got from Nicola. We had a lovely room and had a beautiful meal later that evening. Every step of the way, the staff were superb, friendly, knowledgeable and above all, welcoming. Well done to everyone at Ardtara, we hope to see you all again.

Thank you for another lovely mid-week stay in Ardtara. The food was excellent as usual, the bed beyond comfortable and the staff so courteous and helpful, all of which contributed to making our stay an absolute pleasure. We hope to return soon.

A friendly welcome and lovely bright fires everywhere ensured a real sense of warmth in this lovely old house. Manager Sean and his staff were uniformly helpful. Being on my own, I appreciated their considerate seating arrangements for me in the dining room. Lovely, spacious bedroom with a comfortable bed and an extensive view from 3 windows. The fireplace incorporated a gas fire which could be switched on at need - though this was never necessary in terms of temperature. Lovely ensuite and excellent tea/coffee making facilities. Storage seemed to be limited with no drawer or shelf accommodation for clothes other than wardrobe hangers. This could pose a problem for a longer stay.

The manager and his staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our visit - nothing was a problem for the them. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated with luxury amenities. Dinner menu excellent with good variety of choice and prompt and knowledgeable service. Breakfast also excellent with good local produce on offer.

The fires 🔥 in the bedroom and big bath are so relaxing. I’d like to stay x2 nights the next time. A great place to relax, unwind and read a good book in the charming interior. It would be lovely if they opened up the old tennis court. Lovely walks around the property. As for the food well it’s a big hit with us. The Tom Yum soup was so tasty. Local food like rabbit cooked to perfection and that focaccia!! A foodies paradise. Staff genuine and enthusiastic from front of house to the cleaners. Will def be back.

Ardtara is a hidden gem. Seán made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. He had the fire lit in our room on arrival which was a real treat. Valerie looked after us with kindness and professionalism. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the room was so comfortable. Highly recommended

Sean gave us a really warm welcome for our return. The Superior Room was truly ‘Superior’. Service was wonderful from everyone, the food was astounding. Such a wonderful ambiance, their ‘Hall on the Hill’ gin is great! Ardtara is such a special place, we can’t wait to return.
