Maxi Park Hotel & Spa

SPA hotel located on a hill in the Bulgaria SPA city of Velingrad. Very good service, excellent SPA, very good food, including breakfast. The rooms are nice and clean. Everyone is smiling and nice. The city of Velingrad can be a bit boring, apart from the restaurants which are famous for their excellent food. But I guess the idea in Velingrad is to breath clean air and relax at the SPAs...and eat and drink 😀. So I honestly recommend Maxi...you will not be disappointed.

Old and dirty - this hotel has nothing to do with 5 Stars. The whole furniture and carpets are old and very dirty. The indoor pools are peeling off. The fitness center is basically not functionining (treadmill and cross trainer) and water is dripping from the ceiling. We had booked the highest category room in the hotel and had to change 3 rooms due to poor quality. In the first one the bath tub was peeling off and black and moldy; in the second one the air conditioning was as loud as a helicopter and not working and in the 3rd one there were blood stains on the bedding. This is when we gave up and cancelled the booking. While helping us move in between rooms the bellboy was moaning and complaining that we shall decide on a room and not make him work more while the cleaning lady was pissed when I asked her to change the missing light bulbs in the second room and slapped the door at us. Only the receptionist was nice but helpless, the customer relationship manager not managing cusotmer relationships and the hotel manager not existent which is probably why this place is falling apart. Stay away!

Maxi is my family favorite hotel. Never disappoints. We are visiting every year. Wood and real leather decor in all areas is luxurious and cosy. The huge fireplace, love it! Great Xmas decorations. The rooms are very big with king size bed, central table &sofa, 2 desks, balcony... The mattress and linen super comfortable. The best sleep ever! Half board is available, so no need to go out in search for food. The enjoyment to watch how is raining or snowing through the huge French windows while enjoying the various hot pools (different jets) is priceless. The hotel is positioned high on a hill, so the view to the town is spectacular. Simply the best hotel in Velingrad for us and wish soon to be back again.

Our stay was during the week. Reasonable prices for the quality offered. The spa center is unique, spacious, with plenty of opportunity for recovery and relaxation. Quiet, calm, warm. Very comfortable mattresses and pillows in the huge rooms. Good food. We would visit again. weekays, reasonable prices,

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The staff are very courteous and friendly. The food was quite good at breakfast and dinner, although a few improvements could be made. The spa was really good. I booked a couple of treatments and really enjoyed both of them. The hammam experience was better than I have had elsewhere. The therapist for both my treatments was called Bilyana and she was great! Extremely friendly and pleasant but still very professional. I would highly recommend her if you are considering having a treatment in the hotel. The only downside was that some guy (probably a staff member) was talking on the phone really loud outside the treatment room without any consideration that the serenity my therapists was creating was completely ruined by his loud and lengthy conversation. Things that could be improved: In the early mornings the cleaners were hoovering and making a lot of noise in the neighbouring rooms which meant that we couldn't sleep in - which was one of the things we were hoping to enjoy. - The carpets in section C, including in our bedroom, looked really old and dirty. - The telephone in our room did not work which meant we had to walk 3 floors down to reception if we wanted to ask something. - The TV was positioned in such a way that it could not be watched from the sofa or the bed. You could literally have to stand up in front of the TV if you wanted to watch something. - At breakfast time the fresh orange juice station was quite messy. It could help if a staff member squeezed the orange juice for the guests. Also there was pancakes only on 1 of the 3 days we were there. It would have been nice if there were pancakes every day and perhaps waffles. The worst part of the breakfast was the coffee! It was really bad and came only with added sugar. It really did not reflect well on such a nice hotel to serve such poor coffee. Really need new coffee machines and decent coffee.

Overrated and I don’t know how is boosted in ratings. It is like last century hotel. When you get in lamps are not switch on. I know electricity is expensive but it is 5 star hotel. “Children club” is smelling like more than one week window not open and inside playing no kids, animals. Absolutely disgusting. Most of the staff is up to 20 years old. That is good but they cannot answer most of the questions guests have. And I come to the worst - food. Almost worst food for dinner and breakfast not 5, don’t deserve 2 stars. Absolutely cheapest food you can found in the world.

We stayed at the hotel during May 2022 with our team of teachers. We were delighted by the comfort of the rooms, by the positive attitude of all staff, SPA amenities and excellent food. The only thing that we missed was a night club/bar where we could continue the party after 24:00. I strongly recommend the place for couples, groups or families. It has something for everyone.

With my wife we wanted the best service we can get for our few days in the Rhodopes mountains (December 2021) and were not disappointed. Maxi Park is luxurious but not pretentious. Most of the hotel has been renovated recently and looks brand new. The personnel is great, everyone (from the SPA to the cleaning employees, from the restaurant to the reception) is very nice and at your disposal. The room (premium studio) was huge, with a great view of Velingrad and the mountains and great accommodation (king size bed, gigantic tv, mini bar, etc.). A big plus to the restaurant Hunters with a nice and cozy mood and a great menu, which includes typical dishes from the region (my wife who is Bulgarian confirmed that the menu is not a tourist trap). I also mention that they highlight the Bulgarian wine production (who is often underrated). The only negative point would be that they apparently had some issues with their chimney and it felt foggy and smelt smoke in the lobby and the restaurant. However, this is their first year since the renovation and I am sure that they will fine tune this issue. We went for the winter and look forward to come back for the summer!
