Channel View Guest House

An amazing tranquil escape with a sea view and a very relaxing ebb and flo tidal pattern! Nothing was too much trouble for Melaney the lovely host, all topped off by a flavoursome breakfast in the morning. When I return I won’t stay anywhere else.

Everything about Channel View Guest House was wonderful. From the pre-arrival communication all the way through to our departure, Melaney was lovey. Friendly, accommodating and never too busy to help. The Guest House itself is perfectly located (just make sure you have a plan for parking) with the beach literally on the doorstep. We stayed in the loft family room with the sea view, which was cozy but had plenty of room for the 4 of us (2 x adults and 2 x young children). We had everything we needed, including freshly made, delicious Banana cake. Plenty of pillows and cushions to go around and nice little touches like fresh milk in the fridge and a pair of binoculars on the windowsill (which the children used at every opportunity), made it the ideal base. The breakfast was lovely, particularly the homemade granola and American style pancakes, which my young son claimed were "the best he'd ever seen". We were given a menu to chose form the night before so there was very little wait in the morning and everything came out fresh and hot. There was plenty of cereal, toast and fruit to help ourselves to and we were well looked after. We had a lovely short break in Weymouth to visit the festive sights (the Pudding chase was great fun to see) and it was made all the better by a lovely place to stay and a wonderful host. We've already discussed going back for a summer visit.

The channel view was a wonderful place to stay , the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking ,truly magical to look out across the sea in the mornings. We did lots of coastal walks so it was perfect for us, the location was great. Melanely was a great host and made us feel really welcome, so helpful and super friendly. The breakfasts were also very tasty! Would 100% recommend.

Wonderful greeting from Melaney, who upgraded my room which was a lovely gesture, plenty of milk provided and a slice of cake too, map of the area which has helpful as was the folder of information. Fabulous view of the sea and I was able to hear the waves crashing through the night - sheer bliss. Good breakfast loads of choices with cereals, juices, bread for toast and cooked breakfast. Melaney is thoughtful and I would only stay here if I visit Weymouth again. 10/10

Melaney is the best host,always friendly and approachable.Rooms always clean and tidy and the view is outstanding. The breakfast is always delicious and we recommend this lovely b&b to anyone....Daniel and Maria x

I stayed at this B&B in October 2023 as part of a two night work trip in Weymouth. When I arrived I got a lovely welcome from the lady (whose name escapes me), she told me everything I needed to know, including the breakfast arrangements. In the room was a slice of home-made banana cake, alongside the usual tea and coffee options. I was in room 5, a single room, but it was lovely and cozy. The room had a fridge, fresh milk (not the horrible plastic tiny milk portions), bottled chilled water, a bath robe and an ensuite shower. If I had one slight issue (and it is only slight) was that the water pressure on the shower wasn't the best, but otherwise everything else was spot on. My room overlooked the sea and I woke up both mornings to the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore (bliss!). Breakfast was impressive. You had options of breakfast in your room, breakfast on the go and then breakfast downstairs in the dining room. The 1st morning I had my breakfast in the dining room and had lovely bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms, washed down with orange juice. tea and some toast. There was also a selection of cereal and yoghurt. The breakfast choices and the quality of the food is some of the best I have had anywhere (and I've stayed in my hotel/b&b/hostel). I left feeling relaxed and refreshed from my couple of days here and without hesitation I would stay again. Also note unlike a lot of other b&b's this one is situated on a quiet dead end road, so no sound of traffic, which was an issue for a colleague of mine at another hotel closer to the centre. Location wise you are 30 seconds to the beach, 2 minutes to the nearest restaurant/shop and about 10-15 minutes into town, but the walk is flat. Took me 8 minutes to get to the station. There's a Tesco about 10 minutes walk if you need anything. Thank you Channel View for a lovely stay!

This little place is simple But good value for money . Second year we have stayed and can’t fault it. Within easy distance to harbour about a 15 minute walk. Melaney couldn’t be a better host nothing to much trouble and breakfast has a massive choice along with a full English. The beach is opposite and we had access to deck chairs etc. we have already booked for august next year

What an amazing Guest House! From the moment we arrived we felt so welcomed! Amazing location, right on the beach front and short walk into the town and to the sealife centre too. Our room was clean, comfy and perfect for our short stay. The folder with information in was amazing! Presented well and very informative. Melaney thought of absolutely everything. Breakfast was perfect, sets you up for the day and the service was brilliant. Loved the staggered times so it didnt feel rushed and busy. Pre order also good idea so that you are not waiting and also so Melaney is prepared. Lovely cosy lounge area with TV, Books, DVDs, Games for guests to use. Melaney really does make you feel at home. Melaney also has a little beach hut opposite that guests can use. We used this yesterday which made going in the sea together easy. We could leave our belongings there knowing they were safe, she has chairs, table, parasol, beach mats in there too. Thank you for an amazing stay!! We will definitely see you soon Kerry & Ian

Melaey is a great hostess, very friendly and welcoming. Full of different information about everything you need fir round and about. We had the family room as we took our grandson. Lovely big room, very comfortable beds and great facilities in our room. Just over the road from the beach. Perfect location.
