Nice and clean hotel with excellent service. Front desk was very helpful and recommended good eating places and helped take care of the car. Parking was very convenient just out in front of the hotel.

Close to the bus station and great staff. We arrived early for check in and they gave us an available room as we were tired from our journey and the hotel wasn’t fully booked. Good breakfast too. We enjoyed our time in Croatia.

Je voulais vraiment retourner à Zagreb, alors j'y suis allé, mais je ne me sentais pas bien, alors je suis resté à l'hôtel quelques jours. Le buffet est ouvert pour le petit-déjeuner, le déjeuner et le dîner, donc c'est parfait pour les familles, mais l'éclairage de la chambre était trop sombre, on aurait dit un endroit pour les couples. De plus, il y avait une marche haute, comme un escalier, sous le lit, ce qui était dangereux pour les enfants, et l'intérieur n'était pas confortable. Cependant, le buffet proposait de très bons fruits frais et desserts. Je pense qu'ils devraient proposer un autre type de chambre pour les familles. C'est bien.

One Rude Staff Member Ruined an Otherwise Decent Stay I stayed at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel with high expectations given its historic prestige, but one employee’s unprofessional behavior significantly tarnished my experience. Upon arrival, I mistakenly entered the hotel’s parking area as the parking gate opened. After realizing the error, I proceeded to the lobby, completed check-in, and moved my car to the designated drop-off zone for valet service. At this point, a parking attendant aggressively confronted me—hands on hips, speaking in a condescending tone, and demanding how I’d accessed the area. His demeanor was more suited to scolding a trespasser than addressing a paying guest. To be fair, the front desk and concierge staff were perfectly polite and efficient. Had I not encountered this particular employee, my overall impression would have been positive. But for a hotel branding itself as a luxury establishment, even one hostile interaction is unacceptable. A guest’s entire perception can be undone by a single moment of poor service. The incident casts doubt on the hotel’s training standards. Why does such a disparity in staff attitudes exist? I hope management addresses this, as no amount of century-old tradition excuses rudeness. Until then, I’d hesitate to return or recommend Esplanade Zagreb without caution.

In need of refurbishment from a cosmetic perspective, as the carpet in my hotel room was worn and tired. No body wash and had to ring housekeeping for refill… perhaps this should be checked regularly with cleaning. Cannot fault the care demonstrated towards guests and breakfast quality. A grand old lady of Zagreb that will always draw me to her. Fantastic location. Highly recommended.

Nous avons une grande 5nites séjours dans 2 appartements de chambre, il était un séjour agréable, le récepteur Olivier est utile, la chambre est ample, tout bien, prêt à revenir si je voyage à Zagreb. Supporté par une bonne location dans la zone principale, pas de déception. Recommandé pour la famille aussi. Terimaksih (Merci)

La jeune receptioniste était très rude, de la manière dont elle essayait de dire que la salle de bagages a un espace limité. Je pense qu'elle devrait être formée à fournir un service honnête à tous les invités, sans discrimination raciale. Sinon, le reste de l'équipe de personnel sont agréables et utiles. La chambre est agréable, propre et moderne. Il y a un supermarché (Lidle) à proximité.

The hotel is clean and basic amenities are provided. Reasonable with the price. Since I rely a lot on walking, the location is neither good nor bad. It was 2.5 km from the city center but since it is spring, the walk is really enjoyable.
