A Timeless Gem in Maratea From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and instantly felt at home. The property is stunning—spacious, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. We especially loved the private rocky beach with crystal-clear turquoise water—a rare find. The hotel carries a vintage 50s–60s vibe but is well-updated for comfort. Though we didn’t get to use it this time, the tennis court was a nice bonus. Overall, a peaceful, elegant retreat that we can’t wait to return to. There was a small miscommunication about sunscreen availability at the beach club—we were charged ( 59 euro for the sunscreen) at checkout without prior notice- as we thought they provide sunscreen when we asked for it at the beach. ( lost in translation 😛) It didn’t affect our experience, but clearer communication would have been appreciated. Staff were lovely, warm, and helpful throughout. A true hidden gem—highly recommended for a relaxed, upscale getaway.

Really great one night stay. The hotel is very conveniently located for the autostrada. It was easy to check in and the reception staff were pleasant. We were advised parking was at the rear of the hotel where there was plenty of space. Our room was clean and modern, with a lovely comfortable bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the choice available, as we don't eat meat, there were vegetarian options and of course fish, and the quality was excellent. It was also reasonable in cost. We had breakfast the next day where there was ample choice of scrambled egg (and bacon), cheeses, bread and pastries, cakes etc. Would thoroughly recommend.

The view from this hotel is absolutely stunning; you can see the entire Sassi district at a single glance. It’s also very easy to access by taxi, which is a huge plus in Matera. The room was spotless, including the bathroom and sink, and the staff welcomed us with such warmth. The breakfast was delicious, but the view from the breakfast area was the real highlight. Having breakfast here felt like a sightseeing experience in itself. If you're coming to Matera, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

A nice boutique hotel with friendly staff at a good location with restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms - the room on 2nd floor is good but the one on ground floor smells a bit of mould. Perhaps because it’s inside a cave. Breakfast choice is limited with fruits, toast with tomatoes, and cakes. You can order boiled or scrambled eggs as this is the only hot food they serve. We are fine with that but more as fyi.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We specifically came to Mateta for one night from the Salerno area to enjoy the spa and dinner. As always it did not disappoint! The junior suite room was spectacular. The spa was amazing. The a massages were amazing. The restaurant they recommended for dinner was delicious. The staff is great. Left looking forward to our next trip back! See you soon Gattini!

Honnêtement, je ne le recommande pas, surtout à ceux qui souhaitent transporter de gros bagages. Le taxi ne peut pas se rendre jusqu'à l'entrée de l'hôtel, et il faut marcher au moins cinq ou six minutes sur le chemin de gravier qui monte et descend. Même une fois arrivé à l'hôtel, il faut monter et descendre presque toutes les chambres, ce qui est très raide et peu pratique. Le bâtiment dit séparé se trouve de l'autre côté de l'hôtel (on dirait plutôt que la zone d'origine de l'hôtel a été entièrement aménagée, construite en rassemblant les maisons environnantes). Il n'est pas particulièrement sûr, surtout si vous avez quelque chose à faire le soir. L'hôtel propose une navette depuis le hall (zone principale) jusqu'au bâtiment dit séparé, mais il faut tout de même gravir une vingtaine de marches de gravier et porter ses bagages soi-même. L'hôtel affirme que le bâtiment séparé est à environ quatre minutes du bâtiment principal (il y a un petit sentier), mais il faut 100 marches pour descendre du haut et autant pour revenir. Les marches ne sont pas faciles à monter, très étroites et raides. La maison en pierre est plus sombre, nous avons donc dû laisser la porte ouverte, et il peut faire humide (ils utilisent un déshumidificateur), ce qui rend la couette un peu humide. Le reste est assez standard. Le service de l'hôtel peut être qualifié de serviable, mais loin d'être enthousiaste. Le sauna ressemble aux grands bains chinois. Il est nécessaire d'apporter un maillot de bain, ce qui est acceptable. Je ne fais généralement pas de commentaires sur les hôtels, mais cette fois-ci, je tiens à préciser « non recommandé ».

Le petit endroit charmant avec des hôtes très aimables. La chambre était propre et la salle de bain était moderne. Il y a une vue impressionnante sur le Sassi à quelques pas de la place. Les hôtes ont été utiles pour proposer des zones de stationnement possibles.

Le service est exceptionnel, très utile et amiable. La chambre est spacieuse, très propre et confortable. Nous avons eu un petit balcon avec une très belle chambre. Le restaurant qui nous a été recommandé était également étonnant.

Good service for picking up guests from car park. Breakfast was included, pretty ok selection. Room is large but toliet wall was very bad maintain and dirty. Selfs and table.has ants. The overall was fine but need some improvement on the bathroom wall. Same cost of bookings, some rooms are big, some are small.
