Hôtel où nous avons séjourné la première nuit à Takayama. La chambre était assez spacieuse et les installations de bains publics étaient agréables. Le soir, on pouvait choisir entre des boulettes de riz gluant et du Ochazuke pour le souper. Le petit-déjeuner offrait une bonne variété, et il y avait surtout beaucoup d'étrangers. L'hôtel est très proche de la gare et des sites touristiques des environs. Rien à redire, sauf que le prix a beaucoup augmenté le deuxième jour à cause du festival de Takayama, alors nous avons changé d'hôtel.

Stay was worth every penny. Hotel was located very close to train station and bus station so travelling to and out from it was convenient. Check in process was fast and easy to understand. They even had tea ready during checkin Room was decently sized and very clean. I arrived during spring and the beds were so comfortable and warm The highlight of the hotel has got to be the onsen. They have both private onsen that you can book for an hour and common onsen. If you go around midnight (the onsens are open till 1am), its completely empty and you can enjoy it all for yourself. Word of warning though, you can probably be seen if you're standing close to the edge of the public open air onsen so maybe dont do that (or do whatever floats your boat). After the onsen you can help yourself to free drinks and snacks They had beautiful sakura blossoms during that time, and a public foot bath that can be enjoyed by all. I loved my stay here and will definitely return if I have a chance.

The hotel room is pretty big by Japan standards, and the feeling of the hotel is really grand! Lots of locals were staying there, but the rooms are a little bit dated. The toilet lights were quite dim and the bathrooms could use an update. However, everything worked perfectly and the stay was still extremely enjoyable! The hotel is situated right next to a bus stop so that makes things super convenient! There’s also a family mart behind the hotel (shortcut! go out of the main door, turn right, walk down the ramp, immediately turn right and right again into the small path, go up the stairs past the hotel park, then turn left and cross the small roads, and you’ll find the konbini) The hotel also rents out bicycles to hotel guests FOC, so you can take the bike literally anywhere! We rode to the supermarket (~10 mins away) and also down by the river (10/10 recommended!) and just explored lots around! Gifu is a lovely quiet town and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience a side of Japan that isn’t just Tokyo or Osaka.

Ils ont des chambres triples, parfaites pour les familles. Il y a un bain thermal et un bain de pieds gratuits à l'étage. La chambre est équipée d'un micro-ondes et d'une machine à laver/sèche-linge combinée. Le service est excellent ; chaque soir, nous choisissions un restaurant et demandions à la réception de le réserver par téléphone. L'emplacement est pratique, juste à côté de l'arrêt de bus. Nous reviendrons ici la prochaine fois.

Les sources chaudes sont excellentes et l'environnement est magnifique. Je tiens tout particulièrement à remercier l'employée chinoise de l'hôtel. Il pleuvait toute la journée de notre arrivée et, comme je portais un parapluie et un sac, ma carte de crédit a glissé de ma poche. Par chance, elle était de service ce jour-là. Sans trop d'espoir, je lui ai demandé si elle l'avait trouvée. Elle m'a aidée avec beaucoup de sérieux et de diligence en diffusant un message de recherche dans le groupe de discussion du personnel de l'hôtel. Le soir même, ma carte a été retrouvée sur le chemin et me fut rendue. Un immense merci à elle, grâce à qui mon voyage au Japon s'est terminé parfaitement et sans aucun regret !

Clean and comfortable hotel situated in a remote location. Check-in was efficient, and the rooms are nicely designed and new. The downside is that there are no convenient stores or restaurants nearby, so you’ll have to rely on their snack bar at the lobby if you’d like anything to eat in the middle of the night. There are also a limited amount of parking spaces on the premises, on a first-come-first-served basis

Je suis satisfait. Ils sont gentils et réactifs. Les glaces, le café et le thé sont gratuits, vous pouvez donc les utiliser à tout moment, et les soba sont fournis gratuitement de 22h à 23h. C'est bon, donc je recommande fortement de l'essayer. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable, et le dîner et le petit-déjeuner sont délicieux. Cependant, de la poussière s'est accumulée sur les étagères à l'intérieur de la pièce, ce qui peut gêner les personnes à la peau sensible.

Chambres datées, bien entretenues et globalement propres. Les installations Onsen (femmes) sont très basiques et manquent de commodités. Les repas sont décevants en termes de kaseiki japonais (surtout après la première nuit), avec un faible sens de la saisonnalité et également de nature simpliste. Le petit déjeuner n'était pas copieux, tandis que le dîner était souvent froid ou déséquilibré. Une nuit ici est largement suffisante.

Our stay at Ryokan Gizan was a truly memorable experience. This is a traditionally built and decorated Japanese ryokan, with tatami floors, sliding doors, and an authentic atmosphere that makes you feel fully immersed in Japanese culture. It’s definitely a “must-visit” if you’re looking to experience traditional Japanese accommodation — even a short stay of 2–3 nights is enough to make it special. The ryokan is quite old, which actually adds to its authentic charm, though it might feel a bit less comfortable for more demanding guests. That said, it’s very well maintained and everything is clean and thoughtfully arranged. The onsen facilities were excellent — one public bath and four private ones that you can use freely. After long days of exploring, it was a real treat. We highly recommend booking with the traditional dinner included. The meals were a highlight: we had Yakiniku the first night and Shabu-shabu the second, both featuring fresh, generous portions of delicious food. Breakfast was a traditional Japanese set — beautifully presented and made with care, though not quite to our personal taste. The location is stunning — surrounded by mountains, rivers, and blossoming trees. It feels peaceful and remote. Just note that amenities like ATMs or grocery stores are limited nearby. However, it’s well connected by bus (just a 3-minute walk from the ryokan), which can take you to Kamikochi or the terminals at Takayama and Hirayu Onsen. Buses run about once an hour, so it’s quite manageable. Overall, a fantastic stay — relaxing, unique, and highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a more traditional and scenic side of Japan.

L'hôtel est idéalement situé et dispose d'un parking payant au rez-de-chaussée. Nous avions choisi une chambre avec cuisine, très spacieuse. Nous pouvions acheter des produits frais au supermarché chaque jour et cuisiner sur place. Le plus appréciable était le réfrigérateur garni d'épices de base comme de l'huile, du sel et de la sauce soja. Le champagne et les autres boissons étaient également offerts. Je le recommande vivement pour un séjour en famille !
