The food was nice and distant from the airport was a good thing as our flight arrived a little after midnight. The staff were very hospitable and courteous.

My stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction. The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment. From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

This is my second trip to Marea (previously under another name but with the same owners). I only want to talk about how much I like it if you all promise not to book in for the same weeks that I visit again. It’s quiet, which I love, but within walking distance of busier Paje. The rooms are clean, well-sized, have aircon, fans and cute balconies. Some of the rooms have just been redesigned, and I know there are more upgrades in the works. It has a wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, which is helpful because you don’t ever feel like you *need* to hunt for other food. It has a perfectly sized pool which never feels crowded, and not being in the centre of the resort, doesn’t come with lots of eyes gazing in your direction. Most of all, the staff are fantastic. They always have a smile and a kind word. Service is good and easy. It’s a great find for those looking for a boutique family run resort that also doesn’t break the bank.

Le site est un peu plus loin de la plage que la plupart des attractions touristiques, mais Paje n'est pas grand (nous parlons environ 350m), et ne pas être au centre du tourisme me convient mieux. Il est calme, il a tout ce qu'il faut, et John, le gestionnaire, était super. La seule chose que je puisse suggérer était un malaise, c'est que lorsque nous avons eu l'un des grands éclats de l'île depuis près de 12 heures, Nebo n'était pas le plus préparé. Je viens en fait d'un pays qui a combattu avec l'électricité constante depuis plusieurs années. La cuisine est gaz, et les téléphones portent des torches, donc je me suis sentie complètement bien. Je le recommanderais encore.

Le service de la clientèle était incroyable, le personnel était toujours en haut et en haut pour s'assurer que nous avions la meilleure expérience possible. Quand quelque chose n'était pas disponible, ils trouveraient une façon de nous faire face avec quelque chose encore mieux. L'équipe entière était vraiment amicale, accueillante et soignée. It’s my first time in Zanzibar, I spent two nights at this hotel and a night in another hotel, all I can say is that this hotel is wonderful, rooms are clean, food is nice and above all the staffs are lovely, very friendly and helpful, I’ve been to many hotels in different countries but I can give a high thumb for the staffs of Toa hotel, The General Manager, Lucas that received me upon arrival and the best of all The Front Desk Manager ESTHER, thanks a lot for the hibiscus Juice the day I arrived and the last cup you gave me before I leave, you never knew but it’s my best and I’ll come back for it again in sha Allah. You gave me free wine lucky I don’t drink alcohol I had to return it back to you, thank you so much and I’ll recommend thousands to use your hotel if I have to and I’m sure you’ll never let them down. This hotel was exceptional, it is a little dream in paradise. The resort is so relaxing, once you arrive you just feel calm. The staff are so professional and polite, always willing to help you. The rooms are exquisite with lovely decor and the swim up pool is just the icing on the cake. It is not anywhere on the island you can find these types of rooms with this style of resort and service. If you want a quiet slice of paradise this hotel is for you. Relaxing with a book on the hammock, the evening activities, painting or yoga, the fresh fruit at breakfast, swimming with the turtles. I have stayed in paje, nungwi but nothing beats staying in kizimkazi at Kwanza.
