Nice stop!
The prairie here is beautiful and it is a great stop along your way. We just spent a short time here, but it is beautiful!

Am I too old to play in the pond?
You would’ve never gotten me out of here when I was a kid. Encouraging exploration and learning in a wonderful natural setting. This is a true gem.

Learn about nature!
This is a great place for all ages, young and old, to learn more about nature and the environment. Grest staff and wonderful volunteers. Take the family anytime you are passing through the Maquoket...

Learn about local history and environment in a lovely interpretive center by a prairie and lake,.
My husband and I biked to the center from Maquoketa. It's one of the best nature/ history centers we had ever visited.

Great Learning Center
Highly recommend a visit by all ages. The guide, Jenny was so knowledgeable, patient with the children - made the experience a learning one for all. Center has walking rails and hands on exhibits.
