Musée Archéologique

Don’t miss this gem of a museum.

Well worth the visit. A well organized gem taking you through all the major time periods from Paleolithic to Byzantine. Very compact. Can do in 30 minutes to an hour.

Very helpful staff.

The museum will be better when it has been extended and they can show more but the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Small but interesting regional museum with antiquities from Thrace. The highlight is a golden bust of the emperor Septimius Severus. There are also some exceptional sculptures of the 5th c. B.C.
