This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

This is a very good hotel. It is right next to the shopping mall, so restaurants and coffee shops are everywhere. We really appreciated the friendly front desk staff getting us an upgraded room. It is spacious, cleaned, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we need. We love their long and cleaned pool. It’s perfect for lap swimmers. Definitely we will recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

L'insonorisation n'est pas bonne. La chambre est juste à côté de la porte de l'ascenseur. C'est très bruyant. Les autres sont OK.

L'auberge est une cour calme et isolée, idéale pour ceux qui recherchent une escapade paisible. La villa individuelle que nous avons réservée était spacieuse, avec deux chambres disposant chacune de leur propre salle de bain, offrant ainsi des espaces de vie séparés. Un grand jardin attenant au salon offre également un espace généreux aux enfants pour se défouler. Le personnel était chaleureux et attentionné, répondant à toutes les demandes, et la cuisine était délicieuse. Durant notre séjour de trois jours, nous avons rarement mangé au restaurant, dînant à l'hôtel. L'espace extérieur du restaurant était chaleureux, avec un petit pont et un cours d'eau, une occasion rare de se détendre. L'auberge dispose de son propre parking, équipé de bornes de recharge, ce qui est pratique pour les voyages en voiture. Yunshui Yao est un peu loin, mais les routes de montagne sinueuses, bordées de denses forêts de bambous, rendent la route agréable ! Les enfants se sont bien amusés et leur visite des Tulou a été une réussite !

A little Oasis so near yet so far from the city! Right next to the Xiamen university main gate and walking distance to the sea and the so-called 'twin towers '. Ok the good news - large lovely bedrooms, good toilet, large bathtub and good large shower. All water pressure is good and plenty of hot water. Beautiful garden area off the lower level - private and lovely and green. Nice sunshine coming in. Now the less good - strange overall decor and setup - for example - the sitting area as you enter the place is rather spartan and sparse - only one couch (not comfortable) and one table, it could be better furnished and a lot more homey and welcoming. There is no fridge. There is no wardrobe to hang clothes downstairs. When they service the room daily they don't really make up the bed. The beds are large and comfortable with good linen and pillows.The location is great but uphill and long hard climb to walk and difficult for taxis to find and to travel on crowded single street. There are many steps on the property and no elevator or ramps so difficult for accessibility. The breakfast is limited mostly a simple Chinese food. Ordering coffee ☕ is a bit challenging in English and they are not really experts at coffee. No real food menu on site. There is no English at the reception or in the compound so you need translator service. The televisions (there are three !!) in the duplex have only Chinese channels. Despite this - we loved the place and will stay here again !! Highly recommend - just understand that it is not perfect but really quite good.

Une auberge de jeunesse avec une touche très humaine, et la chambre simple est assez confortable. Il est très pratique d'aller n'importe où, car les sites pittoresques sont relativement concentrés, essentiellement dans le district de Licheng ou le district de Fengze. La pièce est assez grande ~ Il y a aussi une petite cour devant la porte. 🤗Si vous n'avez rien à faire, vous pouvez toujours discuter au premier étage😆La vie à Quanzhou est très lente, donc c'est très confortable ici😌La prochaine fois que je reviendrai, je continuerai à vivre dans mon D01 ! ! Marteau, je reviens ! !

04* property with nice hotel and clean. Room spacious. The staff doesn't speak well English but their service is very good. The location is quick convenient with Flower shop, pastry shop , restaurant and convenient store within 50meter walking distance.

Les chambres sont très confortables et très confortables, mais elles ont été très bien placées pour les visiteurs. J'aimais aussi vraiment l'écran de projecteur dans la chambre, qui m'a permis de regarder WeTV et d'autres contenus. Il a fait du relax dans la chambre encore plus agréable. L'hôtel propose des locations de vélos en ligne, ce qui est une excellente fonctionnalité, mais je suis personnellement sous-aménagé pour le temps. Il pleut la journée précédente et toute la journée était nue avec des températures d'environ 11°C. La brise de mer était très forte et froide, surtout quand on montait sur la bicyclette électronique avec le vent qui souffle directement sur vous. L'hôtel dispose d'un équipement d'hiver approprié, et il est donc très utile de disposer de sa chambre. Le personnel a apporté un petit cadeau à la chambre, et il était réfléchi et pratique, et je l'aimais vraiment il était un geste chaud et accueillant qui a fait que le séjour se sentait extra spécial. Le petit déjeuner était bon. Les clients sont assis au niveau 2 et le repas est servi à la table. Je viens d'un endroit où certains Chinois ne consomment pas de viande bovine, il serait super si il y avait des options telles que la poulet ou la viande bovine. Les noodles de viande de bovins étaient très bons, mais le petit déjeuner de style occidental était très moyen.

Hotel is located in the old town and within walking distance to the street for hailing the cab. They also provide shuttle service to the east gate of the old town. The old town is very charming and pleasant to explore, shop and eat. The hotel room is very clean and tidy. Room outside has balcony to overlook the street. The staff are very helpful to attend our questions, especially provide clear instructions to get to the hotel. We enjoy our stay very much.
