The area and the resort are both beautiful, offering breathtaking views of the ocean from every room. We stayed in a cottage, which had a lovely view, and it was an ideal setting for a relaxing getaway. There are free the free kayak rentals, which we took full advantage of. The area around the resort is picturesque, and kayaking was a great way to explore. We also took advantage of the snorkeling rental, which was reasonably priced. While we didn't see much in the immediate bay by the boat ramp, we were told that the snorkeling gets better farther down the beach, so there’s definitely an opportunity to explore more. The staff at Ti Kaye were generally accommodating and friendly. Our driver, who took us to Laborie at the end of our stay, was especially wonderful. He even stopped to let us take a photo of the Pitons and stopped at the chocolate factory on the way, which was a nice touch! Negative: The journey to the resort can be challenging. The drive takes about 90 minutes on very bumpy roads, so if you’re prone to motion sickness, this could be an issue. Additionally, the resort is quite isolated, which means you either need to rent a car or rely on taxis to get anywhere. The roads are narrow, and driving on the left side might not appeal to everyone, especially for those unfamiliar with such conditions. While the food at the resort is good, it can get quite expensive. We spent about $250 US) a day on food and drinks, which added up quickly. Taxis to nearby destinations are also very pricey. For instance, a round-trip taxi to a restaurant 45 minutes away was quoted at $150 (US), which made us feel a bit trapped at the resort. We ended up leaving a day early to visit Laborie, which offered a more local experience. One thing to really watch out for is the billing. The resort charges a 10% service fee and 10% VAT, but we often found that the VAT was doubled to 20% on our bills, and the service fee wasn’t reflected. As a result, we ended up paying additional tips, thinking they were not included. It’s important to double-check the bill before tipping to ensure you’re not tipping twice. Commentary: One thing to note is that other resorts and cruise ships bring groups of people into the bay on catamarans for swimming and snorkeling, as this area is known for its excellent swimming conditions. We found it a bit crowded at times, especially with 30+ people in the water at once. To avoid the crowds, we made sure to swim either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, which gave us more peaceful and enjoyable moments in the water
