This was my first time visiting Kathmandu, and Mercure Kathmandu truly left a wonderful impression. From the moment we arrived, the service and hospitality stood out.
A special mention to Paras, who picked us up from the airport and helped us with check-in. He was exceptionally kind and professional, and even shared some very useful information about getting around Kathmandu — which really helped us make the most of our trip.
We had booked a room with breakfast for only one person, but the hotel kindly extended complimentary breakfast for both of us — a gesture we truly appreciated.
The room itself was awesome — clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The toiletries were complete, even including a razor and shaving cream, which was a nice touch.
Overall, the staff throughout our stay were consistently helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend Mercure Kathmandu to anyone visiting the city — great service, comfort, and warm hospitality all around!

IInvitéL'hôtel est situé à proximité de la ville de Thamel, à Kathmandu, dans le centre de Thamel, et il est très confortable d'explorer les restaurants, les magasins, les attractions touristiques et la vie nocturne. Bien qu'il soit dans une telle zone vivante, l'hébergement offre une atmosphère confortable et accueillante.
Le personnel était l'une des meilleures parties de mon séjour. Ils m'ont fait sentir bienvenue dès mon arrivée et ont donné de grandes suggestions pour la visite, le transport et les activités autour de Katmandu.
Les chambres et les espaces communs sont propres, confortables et bien entretenus. Les installations étaient confortables et l'atmosphère était saine et agréable.
Le Funky Monkey est un choix fantastique pour séjourner à Thamel, que vous voyagez seul, avec des amis, en famille ou avec des amis.
En général, j'ai eu une expérience incroyable et je resterais certainement ici encore.

FFrances521酒店距離大巴下車位置1公里，預訂之後給我發了2個郵件📧其中一個郵件是告知注意事項，反正有電話號碼，下車給酒店打電話來接我，沒3分鐘就騎個摩託來接我了。房間還可以，在尼泊爾鄉村這個價位就不要挑三揀四，熱水不錯，洗髮水毛巾香皂牙刷都有配，吹風機和熱水要和老闆要，服務很熱情，總體來説不錯。但是這個酒店距離主街有1公里，如果外面吃飯不是很方便，需要預訂的朋友要注意，另外便宜的房間是沒空調的，又另外收了我40人民幣變成了有空調的房間。

IInvitéThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it.
Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out.
At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service!
Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on.
I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw!
Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome.
All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return.
As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

CCostantino85Everything was very good. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant was very good. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything.
The only downside — and I’m sorry to say this — is the nightclub next door, which made it difficult for me to sleep. Every night, the music went on from the evening until five in the morning. The hotel management should consider taking action regarding the nightclub, as it significantly affects guests’ ability to rest.

IIlya KleinThis hotel is an experience on its own! If you want to live in ancient like place with clay bricks and wood carvings.. this is the place! Food is very delicious! And of course friendly and helpful staff.
But note that there is no AC, no amenities besides soap and toilet paper. This is part of eco conception of this hotel.
