Check in was terrible with long queues even though we had used the online check in. Waiting for half an hour as each customer had to pay city tax and have all their details input into the computer and a wasteful A4 sheet of paperwork printed in another room, before being presented and stapled with door keys. During the wait there was a woman ranting and yelling at staff about her son who was accommodated in the hotel. She said that he was being allowed to **** ***** in his room. She was escorted out. Only one lift was working which was a pain as I have difficulty walking and was situated on the fifth floor. Lift stunk of ********. Hotel seemed to be accommodating a lot people that had unfortunately found themselves homeless. The room looked dated and the carpet was covered in burns from an iron. The bed was nice and comfortable and the linen was clean. The bathroom tiles were filthy with soap runs and greasy hands prints. Bathroom ceiling was covered in mould. Bathroom in desperate need of updating and deep cleaning. Bath was yellow with age and looked like it was installed when time began. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were adequate but the containers for the sachets of coffee and tea were very unclean and looked as if they are never rinsed out. There were cigarette burns and stains on the curtains. In general I was really disappointed. We had stayed here about 20 years ago and this is a beautiful hotel with chandeliers and grand decor downstairs. The place just looked neglected and run into the ground with minimal staff, very basic cleanliness and no recent refurbishment.

Pleasant Stay with a Few Shortcomings
My stay at the hotel it had its pros and cons. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made my experience more enjoyable. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was outstanding and a great way to start the day.
However, I encountered a couple of issues during my stay. While the room appeared clean overall, the linen had an unpleasant smell, which was off-putting. Furthermore, some areas seemed to be neglected in terms of cleanliness.
Despite these issues, the hotel has potential, and I believe addressing these concerns would significantly improve the guest experience. I would give my stay a rating of 3 to 4 stars, as the friendly staff and delicious breakfast were notable highlights.

Nice decor, clean and good sized rooms. I stayed on the top floor. Great view from room and sky bar :-)
I will definitely return if in Liverpool for business or leisure with family (interconnecting rooms available).

Le service de la table était super amical et ils avaient même une nuit de vin et de fromage gratuits! La chambre était spacieuse et propre. Il est facile de marcher dans le centre-ville. Vous devez payer un supplément pour le parking, mais ils le réduisent avec un bon

This stay was a little disappointing although the room and executive lounge were good value the lounge was boiling hot and air con not working and also the room had no water from 11pm - 4am. This is unacceptable when the weather is so hot not being able to get a shower at night.
The hotel agreed to refund 25% of the cost but this isn’t really good enough .
On departing we were told that they no longer do the Hilton Q park voucher unless the parking is pre booked online . This is ridiculous also .
Très bien

JJanieLizNegative points from our stay
I travelled with my 11 year old grandson, I booked us a twin room, which we got. Unfortunately, the room was an adjoining room to a double and the ”activity” noises from the other room were so bad that we checked out at 11pm as I didn't want my grandson to have to experience that. It literally sounded like they were in the room with us. I would perhaps suggest that in the future you look at your guest list and unless adjoining rooms are with the same party, where children are in a twin, look to accommodate the couple in another part of the hotel where possible.
I was disappointed that we were expected to pay £5 each to use the pool as I have never stayed at an hotel where it is not included in the room price.
Positive
All the staff were really friendly and helped as much as they could. The night Duty Manager was especially helpful and empathetic to my room dilemma but was unable to find us an alternative twin room, only a double which was not appropriate for us.
We ate in the bar and the food was exceptional although a little pricey.
The location was good and the hotel was easy to find. Be careful when you leave as there are two speed bumps on the exit, and no matter how slow you are going, it feels and sounds like your cars insides are dropping out.
Rooms were spotless and beds very comfortable.
IInvitéWhen we arrived, we noticed we had been given a far inferior room than we've ever had before. The view was terrible. There was no fridge which we have always had before and the room looked 'tired'...in need of TLC.
I went to reception to tell them I was not happy. Anyway they did sort it. Gave us another room with a better view and the young girl on reception brought us an old, but working mini fridge.. so it worked out OK in the end ( I need a fridge to put some of my medication in.) Another lady on the desk was very curt when I said there was no fridge and stated....not all rooms automatically have a fridge in them. Sorry but I thought they did.
Whoever makes loose leaf tea in the restaurant needs to learn it is 1 tsp of tea per person and 1 for the pot. In this case 3tsp of tea and not half a teapot full. I kid you not. See pic below. We got a refund for some of the tea, but nit for the cream tea my friend had. My friend had ordered a cream tea and me, just a tea. Yet they brought a pot of tea for 2, which is the wrong etiquette for an order like this. Hence we only got 2 cups out of it, because of the amount of loose tea in there.
I think I have been spoiled by the superior standard of the rooms, when we have stayed before....I just presumed all their rooms would be like this
IInvitéAmazing experience at the Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village! Stunning lounge and room. Booked an executive room and we had ample space, great facilities, including coffee machine in room! Staff were very helpful, offering special packages that can be arranged for special events / anniversaries. Great views of the radio tower and cathedrals from Level 13 too. 5/5!
IInvitéWow what a find! Really cool hotel. Bedrooms were huge and well appointed. Bar and restaurant were really good, great service from Staff and really lovely breakfast available. Hotel was a rum warehouse previously and the concierge (Michael/martin .. sorry I can’t remember his name) went out of his way to tell us about the hotel and its famous staircase and about the history of the area. I’d wholeheartedly recommend. Finishing touch was very reasonably priced on site parking.
OOli8668My friend and I stayed at The Halyard Liverpool and absolutely loved the experience. The hotel is stylish and comfortable, and the staff were all so helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. We also really appreciated the IHG member benefits, and we used the late checkout, which gave us extra time to relax before heading off.
MMaThe hotel location is very convenient. The facility is ok and the hygiene is good. But cannot feel any warm welcome from the service staff. Just finish the check in and check out process without any smile.
CClaireLovely place to visit, central to everything. We requested a room overlooking the lake which we got, and the room was very quiet. No noise for above thankfully. Only downside was the window wouldn’t open and the pillow were too soft (I sound like Goldilocks!). Brekki was lovely, lots of choice. Would defo come again (that was our 2nd visit).
