I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Le meilleur hôtel de notre séjour au Guizhou. La patronne et son mari sont très gentils et à l’écoute. L’hôtel se trouve dans le village mais un peu à l’écart au calme, tout est accessible à pied. La vue sur les champs et les rizières au loin est très agréable. Nous avons été accueilli au RDC par les chats et l’oiseau de la propriétaire. La chambre est confortable et bien équipée. Le petit déjeuner proposé est soit chinois soit occidental et préparé avec soin. Je ne peux que vous recommander cet hôtel pour votre séjour. Il faut cependant noter qu’une nouvelle route contournant le centre de Zhaoxing vient d’être construite en mars 2026, tous les véhicules doivent y passer désormais, la rue centrale étant devenue piétonne exclusivement. Cet hôtel se trouve de l’autre côté du village (près de la magnifique route de randonnée vers Tang’an), mais à proximité de l’issue de cette nouvelle route. D’une certaine façon cet hôtel est donc devenu l’un des plus accessibles du village en voiture pour acheminer vos valises. L’hôtel propose de véhiculer jusqu’à la gare ou l’entrée du village, ce qui est très pratique (il faut compter 10-15 minutes jusqu’à l’entrée).

I'd like to share my impressions of my stay at this hotel. Firstly, the hotel is very new and designer inside. The view of the village is, I'd say, the best in the area. First things first: the hotel offers a butler service, and when you arrive at the attraction, a butler will meet you and take your luggage. You don't have to bother walking to the bus, which is quite a distance, and the entire scenic area is on a mountain, requiring constant climbing. The hotel is also located on a hillside, so getting to it requires a climb up narrow steps. The butler carried my luggage and accompanied me the entire time. The walk from the entrance to the hotel took about 25 minutes, including the bus and the walk. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted at reception and offered afternoon tea; there were five drinks on the menu. I chose a milk oolong tea with milk, and they offered me fruit, nuts, and homemade cookies. It was delicious. I spent the entire time relaxing, drinking tea, and enjoying the village views. After I'd rested, I went to my room. I was given a room on the 4th floor with the lucky number 888. The room has absolutely everything: excellent Loccitan cosmetics, toiletries, robes, and slippers—everything is of very good quality. There's also a modern hairdryer and steam iron. There was a bath on the balcony, but I didn't use it because it was chilly. The room is really new; it has underfloor heating if you get cold, and also air conditioning. The bed linen, pillows, and blanket were wonderful. I didn't even notice how my night passed; I truly rested for the two nights I stayed at this hotel. The hotel staff explained how I could spend my time and took me to a restaurant where I could have a delicious meal. Then I went for a walk. I spent the entire evening strolling around the village and taking in the sights. That evening, when I returned, I was offered evening soup, which I really enjoyed; it was very unusual. Since I was a foreign tourist, the hotel staff communicated with me using a translator via WeChat, which was very convenient and prevented any misunderstandings. The next morning, I was offered breakfast, which was served on the first floor of the hotel. The dining room was also very beautiful and well-renovated. After breakfast, I went for a walk around the village to take beautiful photos. I had a wonderful time in the village, taking in the sights. I especially enjoyed the local people's show on New Year's Eve, as well as the singing of the women and men of the Miao people. The day before my departure, the hotel staff asked what time my return tickets to Guiyang would be and told me they would arrange for me to be transported to the entrance so I could call a taxi. I would give this hotel the highest rating, firstly because it's in a wonderful location on a mountain with a magnificent view, and literally a three-minute walk from the main observation deck. I would also give the highest rating to the hotel personnel, and especially to the butler his wechat name Velpro, they are all tried their best to help me and accompanied me on all my questions. I would also give the highest rating to the hotel owners, who care about the interior order, cleanliness, and the care of their guests. This level of hospitality is truly rare. If I return to this village, I will definitely stay at this hotel. I recommend it to everyone.

La chambre d'hôtel est propre et bien rangée ! Elle est exactement comme sur la photo ! On a l'impression d'être dans la même pièce ! La vue est imprenable ! Le paysage est omniprésent ! J'apprécie aussi les enceintes ! C'est tellement agréable d'écouter de la musique sur la terrasse le soir, bercée par la brise ! On peut aussi saluer et échanger avec les passagers du bateau de croisière. Le service de l'hôtel est également excellent. La réception vous aidera à porter vos bagages et à les acheminer à votre départ ; il y a aussi une cuisinière. Comme nous sommes descendus tard, la cuisinière a commencé à ranger les choses les unes après les autres. En nous voyant arriver, elle nous a préparé deux œufs au plat ! Le petit-déjeuner est également délicieux (っ˘ڡ˘ς), et l'enregistrement est excellent ! Je vous recommande particulièrement une spécialité : le Deng's Tofu Old Shop ! Sa cuisine est excellente et vous ne serez pas déçus ! Promettez-moi de commander du vin glacé !

We arrived in Xijiang and were immediately met with such a kind surprise—they upgraded our room for my birthday, which truly set the tone for our entire stay. We were on the third floor with the most wonderful view, looking out over their little water feature and the village beyond. Our balcony, complete with a tea set and two chairs, quickly became one of our favorite spots. Sitting there, especially in the evening, felt magical—like we were nestled among the stars overlooking the town. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the viewing platform and easily accessible down into the main village. Arriving was also incredibly smooth. As first-time visitors to China, we were quite nervous navigating trains and logistics as English speakers, but the hotel staff stepped in early with clear, thoughtful guidance. From the very beginning, they were attentive, responsive, and genuinely kind. When we arrived at the North Gate after taking the shuttle into the scenic area, a staff member met us and carried both of our bags up the hill and stairs to the accommodation. This was such a thoughtful gesture—especially because the terrain can be challenging. (For future travelers: if possible, avoid bringing heavy suitcases—but if you do, you’ll be very well taken care of here.) Check-in was seamless, and our room was extremely comfortable with all the amenities we needed. They provided water, soft robes, and made communication very easy via WeChat. Breakfast was also a highlight—we opted for the Chinese breakfast, which was light, healthy, and a perfect way to start the day before exploring all the incredible street food in town. We especially loved the communal living space—a cozy café-style area with a balcony overlooking the village. It was such a peaceful place to sit, have tea, and take in the views both during the day and under the night sky. They also had everything you could need: a coffee maker, dishes, mugs, and even fresh spring water, which was a lovely touch. The warmth of the people here truly made the experience unforgettable. The housekeeping staff were so kind, and the younger staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. It really felt like being welcomed into a home rather than just staying at a hotel. And the little cats around the property made it even more special. On our departure day, we were running late for the last bus, and one of the younger staff members carried my very heavy bag down the hill and practically ran with it to make sure we made it on time. He stayed with us until we were safely on board. That level of care and service is something we will never forget. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to the family and the entire staff for your kindness and for taking such wonderful care of us. You made our short stay in Xijiang an absolute pleasure and a weekend we will remember forever.

Avantages : Emplacement calme en bordure de route de campagne, à proximité des champs de Bagua, vue imprenable depuis la chambre, nombreuses prestations offertes, service de qualité et forte valeur sentimentale. Recommandé pour les amateurs de photographie, de rencontres et de détente dans le jacuzzi. Inconvénients : Équipements de la chambre basiques ; murs présentant des traces de réparation, toilettes non équipées de sanitaires, câbles apparents derrière le porte-serviettes, taches de ciment sur la tête de lit et les fonctions des interrupteurs sont indiquées par de simples autocollants transparents, ce qui semble superficiel. En résumé, vue magnifique et excellent service, mais les équipements de la chambre ne m'ont pas entièrement satisfait.

This is really my last review. I extended my stay to get the right bus connection to Kunming. So, I've spent about two weeks here now and can only report positive things. Anyone in Xingyi can book this apartment and will have a great time there.

Casa Lilium: More Than a Stay Casa Lilium redefines hospitality. Serene elegance rivals any 5-star boutique—yet with warmth no chain could replicate. Every corner whispers thoughtful curation: crisp linens, ambient lighting, spotless spaces that feel both luxurious and lived-in. The Heart of It All: Our Landlady Words fail, but I'll try: she is heartfelt, organized, effortlessly kind. When I arrived shivering in Anshun's 8°C March air, she appeared minutes later with a soft cardigan and knowing smile: ”For you, so you can enjoy our beauty comfortably.” That small gesture made me feel profoundly seen. When I mentioned wanting to capture Anshun through video, she acted. Within hours, she connected me with a talented local photographer—a true artist. The footage? Breathtaking. She gifted me memories I'll hold forever. A European's Truth: ”I Felt Home” The subtle loneliness of being far from familiar faces simply dissolved here. Language barriers softened through smiles and genuine care. Cultural distance? Bridged by shared tea, laughter, and her pride in showing me her Anshun. I didn't feel like a foreigner. Cette fois, la population qui vient dans la forêt de Glenn est complètement au-delà des attentes, c'est absolument une surprise pour cette piste! La santé est particulièrement tranquille, la chambre est réconfortée et incolore, les toilettes et les toilettes sont bien placés et il semble que la chaussure soit très utile. La principale chose est que le prix est vraiment pratique. Ce prix peut vivre dans une chambre aussi propre, service et intime dans le paysage, et le rapport coût-prix est plein directement. La position est également pratique, pas loin de Qinglong, le pont de cinq yeux, vous pourrez aller à la porte de marche quelques minutes. La prochaine fois que vous revenez à Gylan, vous devez rester ici, vraiment recommandé à vos amis!

Excellent location. Centrally located in town vs. the advertised resort hotel. Upgraded our room with a spacious enclosed balcony with direct view of their shows area. Very helpful staffs that helped with lugging the luggages from arrival to departure. Highly recommend!!!
