Avis : Lansdown Grove Hotel

Nice, friendly and cosy hotel. Was not aware that car park was £15 per night. 15 mins walk into town. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning during the hot summer, and despite the 2 elections fans placed in the room, it was still rather hot in the room.

The room that we were given was different from what l selected online. It was tiny and suitable for one person only not 2 adults. The advertisement for this hotel was misleading, it indicated that there was a small coffee table with 2 chairs which was not the case in our situation we had 1 chair. The carpet had stains on, and there were cobwebs and dust around the bed. The paint on the window frame was peeling and falling off and needed attention. After raising my concerns about the room, the receptionist was not interested, and I was told to speak to the manager the following day. I would not recommend this hotel, and neither would l stay there again.

The hotel had comfortable room but it was too hot inside (especially the bathroom was really nice and had everything). Also could be cleaner, although the staff was really helpful.

Very charming little hotel on the hill with a nice view over Bath. Professional service, clean and good amenities!

Lovely quiet hotel on the outskirts of Bath. Beware of the steep walk back from the centre but  buses and taxis are readily available. Our third floor room very warm in the summer heatwave but a fan and mobile air con unit helped to make sleep just about bearable. Would recommend and return.

Family room is spacious and bathroom is clean.

Very steep hill to get up and down from The hotel to city centre. Parking was frustrating, pretty full and tight spaces costs £15 for 24 hrs

Lift in the hotel if you struggle with stairs. Hill is steep going into bath, and returning back to the hotel but there’s a bus stop outside so not a problem. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples or families.

We stayed here for one night following a graduation ceremony and had breakfast also. The hotel is nicely placed as it is between the M4 and the city centre with a walkable direct route into the city - great placement. The breakfast was very nice and service was quick throughout. The room was very clean and the fans in the room were much appreciated. We would stay here if we come to Bath again.

The room was bigger than expected and for the most part clean, (the bin in the bathroom was under sink and the lid was filthy). We ordered the charcuterie and local cheese board for 2 and a large baked camembert for 2 as starters. Before I continue I thought I had made an appointment to discuss the matter with the manager prior to leaving, with Darren the night before leaving as an info board said if you can't score us 10 tell us how we can improve, which wasn't the case as it turned out. Nothing identified the cheese as local and I don't think it was, there were 4 pieces of silver skin pickled onions as an accompaniment, no grapes or crudités, also the 'charcuterie' seemed to be prepacked from one of the larger supermarkets, with six crackers and no butter for either, between 2 people. Futhermore you are only allowed 2 slices of bread for the large camembert. I then had the lamb shank with butter mash and sautéed vegetables, all of which was completely inedible, the skin on the lamb was grey and the meat solid lumps of solid black that smelt and tasted bad, the mash and gravy was a messy greasy slop and the sautéed vegetables just soft greasy cold inedible stuff. My partner had butter chicken, which was ok, however the accompanying salad so vinegary as to be inedible. The current owners have been there a year unyet the only info you can get on parking suggests £10pd although in fact it is £15, given the room prices it makes it extortionate. There are no ashtrays in a very tatty garden, which no-one seems to clear up. The paid breakfast with booking is not a buffet, not is the continental breakfast, which does have a very limited selection buffet style, like any continental breakfast I have had in similarly price hotels, there being no meats or cheeses. I was not offered an itemised bill at checkout, appalling service. I cannot recommend these premises at all for the manner it is advertised.

Beautiful hotel. Room was very clean with doors opening up to the back. Staff were amazing, nothing was to much effort. Would live to stay again.
