L'hôtel, ou plutôt les appartements, se trouve quelque part entre la ville supérieure et la ville inférieure. La rue tranquille du jour, vient vivre le soir lorsque les restaurants, les cafés et les bars de boissons sont ouverts. Chambres propres, très confortables lits et spacieuses salle de bains. Le petit déjeuner est à 7 heures de la porte, le parking est dans le parking.

Hôtel tout confort. Chambre spacieuse, très propre et contemporaine. Bien que donnant sur une route passante, le double vitrage permet de ne pas entendre le bruit du trafic. Très bien situé dans la ville basse que je recommande de visiter car très animée avec des boutiques, des restaurants, de belles places... Accueil digne d'un 4 étoiles. Nous n'avons pas testé le petit-déjeuner.

Très bon hôtel pratique bien situé dans la ville basse de Bergamo, chambre propre avec très bonne literie, excellent rapport qualité prix. Le petit déjeuner est sans surprise industriel, mais c'est déjà un bel effort qu'il soit inclus. Le parking est très pratique.

Hôtel très bien situé,d'une propreté exemplaire. En période COVID tout est désinfecté. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux. Le soir de notre arrivée beaucoup de restaurants étaient fermés ou complets, même celui de l’hôtel... Le personnel de la réception a fait le nécessaire pour que nous puissions avoir une table.Nous avons pu diner au restaurant de l’hôtel qui était très bon. Le personnel a été très agréable durant notre séjour.

There are a huge number of positives for staying at the Hotel Piazza Vecchia. It is a charming, historic property in the heart of Bergamo’s Citta Alta (Bergamo’s old town), a short walk from all the main sights of this delightful city. The location is superb, close to lots of excellent restaurants and shops, the funicular stops and the main historic sights of the city. Most of the accommodation seems to be near the station which is 15-20 minute walk to the funicular that takes you up to the historic old town (or another 15-20 minute walk up the hill if you are athletic) so it makes a lot of sense to stay here if tourism is the reason why you come to town. The hotel is located off one of the main old town streets, up a short flight of stairs to the reception desk. It’s eighteen steps, and a stairlift is available if you need help. To the three floors where the rooms are located there is a small lift. The check in and out was efficient and friendly, the receptionists are always welcoming and speak English. They really want to boost tourism to the city and were very nice to speak to. The written communication isn’t quite as strong. Before we arrived we requested an airport pick up, which they provide through a local driver who is very nice and speaks good English. We got no confirmation to say this was arranged so emailed again to be told that it was arranged. The pick up was fine but when we went to confirm the return to the airport we found the time they had was wrong. It was soon sorted out, but I would recommend double checking the details. Parking is also available at a nearby site. Our room was on the third floor. It had a balcony with a view of rooftops and the hills behind the city, a large TV (but only with Italian channels), good WiFi, a wardrobe and a very small safe, which again showed for us that Reception is a little inconsistent. I went to use it, followed the instructions and then couldn’t open it. I informed Reception (luckily, I had nothing in the safe) and that it needed resetting, but it didn’t happen during our time at the hotel. There is also a coffee machine, fridge and a comfortable bed and an air conditioner/heater. They provide cups, glasses and a corkscrew. The most irritating thing about the room we stayed in was that there was no ceiling light, just a wall light and three lamps, making the room quite dark and impossible to find anything in the wardrobe or drawers after dark without a torch. The only other downside to the room was that there was only one bin, a small one in the bathroom so it filled up quickly. The room also had a desk, a table and seats, which weren’t that comfortable, they were like garden furniture, so I suspect that they go on the balcony when the weather improves. The bathroom had a good shower. The sink was nicely designed but a bit impractical, with a sloping bottom to it and an overhanging tap which made shaving or washing your face awkward. Si vous êtes amants d'hôtels ultramodernes et aseptiques, évitez cela. C'est sans aucun doute un style ancien et certaines choses doivent être rénovées (comme la moquette), mais si vous choisissez un autre logement, vous perderez la possibilité de toucher avec la main ce qui signifie l'accueil. Sous réserve que je préfère les locaux ”avec une histoire”, j'ai aimé les espaces communs, la salle en particulier, avec son style ”d'époque” et toute l'histoire qu'il raconte sur Garibaldi et son entreprise. Le personnel est gentil, préventif et vraiment confortable (de la réceptionniste au personnel de la salle et à la femme de chambre). Les chambres ont sans aucun doute besoin de quelques rénovations (qui, je l'espère, ne sera pas effectuée en dénaturant le style de l'hôtel), mais sont Confortable et très propre (nous avons occupé trois, donc j'ai pu vérifier ce que je dis). Ultime point en faveur de cet hôtel, le petit déjeuner inclus, ne s'attendre plus ...e quel petit déjeuner! Rich, varié, du doux au salade, il y a vraiment des propositions pour tous les goûts et habitudes. Vous savez vraiment compliments à tout le personnel. Si nous revenons à Bergamo, nous passerons sans aucun doute ici.

Nous sommes revenus à la Petronilla après 8 ans et je suis heureux de vous informer que c'est aussi beau que jamais. Le personnel est gentil et utile, avec une attention attentive aux détails. La Petronilla est dans une position parfaite, calme mais à pied pour tout (si vous n'aimez pas marcher sur les collines, il y a un funiculaire pour aller à la ville supérieure).
