Potsdamer Inn

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days, mainly because it was the most affordable option in the central area. It's located just a few steps from two metro lines, including the U-Bahn, and getting around the city is super easy, even with Bolt scooters. You can reach Postdamer Platz in about 15 minutes on foot, and the hotel is near Postdamer Strasse, which is known for being one of Berlin's red-light districts. So, the area might not be ideal for every type of traveler. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member at the reception, who also recommended a nice spot for coffee, which I appreciated. However, I had to wait until 2 PM for my room to be ready. When I finally got to my room, I immediately noticed that the lock was problematic: it was difficult to both open and close, and I had to give it a good shove with my shoulder to get in. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. I found hairs (not mine) on the bed covers, and when I slightly moved the wardrobe, I discovered a pair of dirty socks that must have belonged to a previous guest. I reported this to reception, and to their credit, they removed them quickly. However, I didn't receive an apology for the inconvenience. Although the bed was quite worn out, it was the only thing that I found somewhat comfortable during my stay. In summary, the hotel’s location is definitely a plus, but I can’t overlook the serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. Also, the proximity to Postdamer Strasse might not be suitable for those looking for a quiet or family-friendly area. If these issues were improved, this could become a decent choice for budget travelers in central Berlin.

The reviews made the hotel seem like a bad decision to book, however when we arrived the receptionist allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled. As for the room - the sheets were clean and stainless, the room was also clean, the shower was working with hot water. However at night it was a bit difficult to fall asleep because the walls are very thin. The view from our window was also a bit unsettling.

Gruselig! Wir waren für 3 Nächte dort und wollten nach dem ersten Blick in beide gebuchten Zimmer eigentlich wieder gehen, aber zum einen wäre uns nichts erstattet worden, zum anderen wäre in Berlin kaum noch was anderes Frei gewesen! (Dank des Vater Tages) Es ist dreckig und Matratzen so wie decken voll mit undefinierbaren Körperflüssigkeiten. (Eines davon war dunkel Rot) Das Bettzeug war zwar sauber, aber dennoch blitzte der Dreck komplett durch. Ich habe so viele Bilder gemacht um dies zu dokumentieren, das ich es selbst kaum fassen kann in so was hab schlafen müssen. Dreck, Popel an den Wänden, Türklinken und Türen mit irgendwas beschmiert, schmutziges Bad, 2 Tage lang kein warmes Wasser zum Duschen, unfreundlichkeit und Ignoranz war zu spüren, dreckige und kaputte Möbel, einbruchsspuren an einer Tür eines Zimmers von uns, Nachts ist die Eingangstür nicht Verschlossen und vieles mehr! Wir waren echt froh dort nicht mehr Schlafen zu müssen und heim fahren zu können. Berlin ist Toll und wir Lieben es, aber das Hotel war echt eine Katastrophe. Frühstück gab es auch nicht zum zubuchen wie es auf diversen Seiten erwähnt wurde. Angeblich wollen sie für 5 Sterne renovieren, aber diesem laden dürfte man nicht mals einen Stern geben. Die erste Nacht haben wir auf statt unter den decken geschlafen und unsere Kleidung über die Kopfkissen Gezogen um den Ekel etwas einzudämmen, am nächsten Tag haben wir extra decken gekauft um das Bett erträglich zu machen. Auch sakrotan war unser bester Freund! Dieser Laden wird uns nie wieder sehen, aber Berlin schon! Für diese Unterkunft sind selbst 5 Euro pro Nacht noch viel zu viel! Also wenn ihr was besseres und sauberes wollt, dann sucht besser weiter!Gruselig!
