This is a lovely cottage! The dining room is well decorated and the room is comfy and clean. The host Glen and Susan are very nice and suggested us lots of good spots to go. Highly recommend. :)

What a jewel within the Lake District. Such a warm welcome and fabulous atmosphere for a pleasant stay. Rooms are very well set out with plenty of nice touches to make you feel like it’s a home from home. Highly recommend staying here for a visit to the lakes.

My first visit to the Lake District and I chose Storrs Gate House based on reviews on Tripadvisor. What a great choice! Susan and Glen were the perfect hosts, providing help and advice on all things local. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection was the best start to your day imaginable. Choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cooked English, fruit juice, tea and coffee. The free car parking was a bonus. I'll do another trip sometime and hopefully stay at Storrs Gate House again. Overall, great value.

We would give Storr’s Gate House 10 out of 10 if we could. With a very warm welcome on arrival, Glenn showed us to our amazing room - total perfection, no detail missed. The whole property is so warm & inviting making you want to stay much longer. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the beautifully manicured garden was divine. We had the best fresh fruit, yoghurt & granola and perfectly cooked eggs. Other options were also available & nothing is a problem. Glenn & Susann were always on hand with great suggestions on sightseeing & local restaurants. We were so glad we took up Glenn’s suggestion of a visit & how to get to Beatrix Potter’s Hilltop Farm. Lovely guest house in a convenient location. Short walk into Bowness. Hosts Glen and Susan are very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area and places to eat out. Their staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is lovely and lots of choice with local produce. We stayed in Jacobean Suite which was nice and spacious with separate lounge area, nice sized en suite shower room with lovely toiletries. The only comments I can make is that it really requires bath sheets rather than standard bath towels as they were just not big enough to wrap round after getting out of the shower. Unable to get hot water in the morning when all other residents are using their showers, luke warm at best. Had to get a shower in the evening when there was plenty of hot water as it wasn’t being used. Bed was comfy and slept well. The fridge in the room was great to have and would have been nice to have small bottles of milk for the tea/coffee each day instead of the tiny cartons . The gardens are lovely and we sat out with a bottle of wine at the end of our days out which was really nice to do. Parking is a bonus too Really enjoyed our 3 nights stay and wish it could have been longer. Until staying here, we have never found anywhere in Bowness that we would return to, but we have now found somewhere lovely that we will definitely return to on our next stay in Bowness..

First class from arrival to departure. Susan and Glen gave us proper old school hospitality, as did the other members of staff. Room was huge and spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Glen even showed me his incredible vintage motorcycles. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice and top quality produce. Couldn't fault it if we tried. Would 100% stay there again. Can't reccomend highly enough.

As always a lovely stay here, Susann and Glenn are perfect hosts. There rooms are stylish and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent and made to order. Its in a great location for the area and they have lots of great advice for the area. We will definitely stay again.

Storrs Gate House was the perfect choice in every way! The house is lovely with a spacious living room, a welcoming breakfast room, and beautiful bedrooms. Susann and Glen were so fun! They love Bowness and the surrounding Lake District and had so many ideas for us to explore. And the location..... perfection! Within walking distance of Windermere Lake, a great restaurant (The Boathouse), the ferry to get across the lake, and Bowness. We walked from the B&B into Bowness multiple times during out stay. It was a great way to walk off the indulgence of food and drink and we didn't have to contend with finding parking. Highly Recommend!

This is the most beautiful place to stay when visiting the lakes, made to feel so very welcome as soon as you step through the door with an amazing reception from both Susan and glen.Rooms are impeccable with everything and more that you would need for a stay. Breakfast is amazing what a choice! Fruit,fresh yogurt, granola, cooked options and also pastries and muffins all freshly prepared. You will not be disappointed while staying.

We had a wonderful time in the fantastic place. Susan and Glen are brilliant hosts. I couldn't find fault with anything the room the food our welcoming was a joy. We will be going again in the future. Our whole experience was a credit to the establishment. Well done guys.

Just back from a lovely break at Storrs Gate House. Susann and Glen are wonderful hosts and extremely helpful. We had the room on the top floor which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed the two nights we stayed at Susann and Glens Storr Gatehouse b&b. Having spoken to Susann a couple of days earlier on the phone we mentioned our daughters had treated us to a few days away for the anniversary of our wedding. To our surprise Susann upgraded us to the Victorian room,a lovely and bright spacious room. They are the perfect hosts,very friendly and welcoming and everything was perfect from the lovely decor and comfortable bed to the great breakfast. We would definitely stay here again and hope to do so in the near future.
