The White Horse Hotel and Luxury Shepherds Huts

Just arrived home from a one night stay at one of the most beautiful places.... A Shepherd's hut. From start to finish it was a truly tranquil stay. We had dinner bed and breakfast.. Last night's dinner was lovely and our sleep was good too. We didn't use the hot tub but next time we will! We woke up to an amazing view of the pond and fields beyond. Breakfast was also very good and staff were friendly at all times which made us feel at home. We are definitely going back and looking forward to taking friends with us to enjoy the experience we had. Don't hesitate to go and you will feel a relaxed time. We drive for nearly 2 hours to get to this pub to meet up with family. We think it is a lovely pub with great food, especially the honey and mustard chicken! We went here for a very special Birthday and Peter, Alina and Conner made it extra special which really meant a lot to all of us. Thank you very much x.

We had our Christmas lunch at the White Horse. The food was ecellant and high quality. The staff were fantastic and gave a great service with nothing being to much to ask. Will definitely be returning next year.

We had a two night stay in one of the shepherds huts , we stayed in Cedar. The huts are lovely with a fridge, kettle and a small stove that we cooked jacket potato in , may be a toaster and microwave would be be a nice addition . The huts were clean and very warm , we used the Japanese wood fired soak tub , easy to light the fire and keep it going ,ended up getting very hot , totally enjoyed it , the privacy is perfect , all done with a lot of thought and to height specifications was lovely to sit in the evening with a drink around the fire pit , an extra bounce breakfast in the pub was included in the stay extremely good breakfast , we eat in the pub on our first night good food at a fair price . A great week had .

Convenient parking right outside our room and very friendly welcome. Lovely large room, spotlessly clean and a huge comfortable bed. Quality biscuits and tea making facilities. Fantastic walk in shower. There was plenty of storage and it was easy to adjust the heating. Good WiFi. Dinner and breakfast were both outstanding. Only wish we could have stayed longer to sample more of their dishes.

Sometimes you have such a great experience somewhere you return a year later and are bitterly disappointed. CERTAINLY NOT AT THIS PLACE. Another first-class Sunday Stopover, have tried on quite a few occasions to book recently without success now understand why. Brilliant stay everything exceptionally great, accommodation, (lovely walk-in shower and good quality toiletries), very high standard of cleanliness, great food quality (especially the Coffee and Tia Maria Mousse), ample parking, great staff friendly and efficient. This stay most certainly represents great value. The effort shown by the Management and Staff alike to their guest’s comfort and satisfaction is obviously paramount and boy does it show. Would we stay again? most definitely and can’t recommend a visit highly enough.

My review is for the restaurant - visited with my friend and our children without a prior booking. The car park was full so we didn’t think we’d get a table! But the front of house lady was really accommodating and squeezed us in for lunch on a Friday half term holidays. Food was lovely, we all enjoyed our food. The children cleared their plates. It was busy and we did have a short wait for drinks and food orders etc but it’s a pub that ticks lots of boxes and I’d definitely visit again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the White Horse inn for a friends wedding and we were very impressed. It was a bit of a pricier hotel, but after staying there we think it is definitely worth the extra money. Our room was gorgeous and clean, with really high quality amenities. We both agreed that it was the comfiest hotel bed we have ever slept on and we had superb nights sleep! It is really nice touch to have access to so many apps on the TV, made us feel at home and cosy. We had an accessible bathroom which was clean and very roomy. My only nag is to do with the doors (room 8): they are very heavy and close together meaning it’s really difficult to open both at the same time, meaning you have to fully go into the hallway and close the bedroom door to be able to open the bathroom doors. Something someone with accessibility issues could struggle with? Breakfast was superb, you are able to pick from a breakfast menu which I would recommend as the continental is quite limited. I would definitely recommend having dinner in the restaurant as the food was gorgeous, not a single complaint (haddock and chips is incred). FYI if you book your hotel room directly with the hotel (rather than e.g. ***********) you get £25 off a meal in the restaurant. Overall a really really lovely stay, and I hope to return in the future.

We done the dinner stay and breakfast, very good value for money. We had a fanatic stay celebrating my daddy’s birthday, the room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The only issue we had (reason for 4 star not 5 stars) we did discuss this matter with one of the senior team members, we had one of the waitresses who had bad attitude, throwing down our cutlery, she was even coming over to us with her coat on to collect things, didn’t ask if we was finished with items she was taking, just came and took it all with not even a smile. The waitress wasn’t rude but you could tell she didn’t want to be there. Unfortunately this did damper our evening. Everything else was fantastic and we would still recommend.
