Oltrarno Splendid

Lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms. Nice breakfasts and very helpful staff. It is on the south side of the river and only a 5 minute walk to the main tourist areas. Close to really nice restaurants and squares that are slightly away from the main touristy area. Highly recommend!

Loved, loved, loved this beautiful boutique hotel. It’s quirky decor, wonderful customer service and location, make this an ideal destination to visit Florence. A 10 minute walk into the centre of Florence whilst being located in a trendy neighbourhood of the City with some great restaurants and shops on it’s doorstep, means it’s ideal after a long day of sightseeing. A vast selection of fresh pastries, meats, fruit and yoghurts and of course excellent coffee were the perfect start to the day. Our bedroom also had a coffee machine and cakes/pastries were available all day in the breakfast area. I would highly recommend this hotel, without hesitation!

This is absolutely a great place to stay. It is just on the other size of river, so it is still close to everywhere but much quieter. The room is big and charming. Bed is comfortable. I didn’t get a chance to check out the breakfast as I normally leave early in the morning before it started. But I did take the advantage the fruit basket at the breakfast area. The owner recommended me the restaurant and made the booking for me where I had the best steak of my life. I don’t have any negative to say about the room and will definitely come back next time.

This quaint hotel reminded me of a step above a youth hostel. To reach the hotel you have to climb the stairs or take an elevator to get there. There's a reception area where guests can have breakfast and coffee and tea which was a nice touch. The room was small, but the hotel was centrally located close to museums and attractions - but wear your sneakers. This is not a place I would want to stay for more than a day or two as the room was small, and it was hard to find a place to put your things. It was clean, but some of the furniture needed to be repaired (a broken arm on a chair). Also, the day we were leaving, I asked her to call a cab a few hours in advance to bring us to the train station, but the receptionist said we couldn't get a cab due to the marathon in town. I do understand that would cause a delay - but I wished she had explained that to us the night before and asked as a courtesy if we needed a cab the night before. In the end, it wasn't bad rolling our suitcases to the station - advice: make sure you have new suitcases with large rollers.

This is a gem of a small hotel in a wonderful neighborhood that is walkable to all the sights and away from the tourist crowds. It is close to wonderful restaurants, great shopping and the small team at the front desk was so very helpful with taxis and suggestions. We can't wait to return.

Everything about this wonderful place was fantastic. We had trouble believing we had arrived at first. The castle sized wooden front door was amazing as was the interior gate. Once throuboth and across the small stone courtyard was the elevator that brought us up to another door. There, a most welcoming reception awaited us. Our room was unique, beautiful and comfortable. Afternoon cake awaited us. The staff were helpful at every turn. We would return there anytime. Breakfast was delicious and fresh daily. Location is great! Highly recommended.

I highly recommend Oltrarno Splendid if you're staying in Florence. The property well-located because it's in a slightly less touristy section of the city and it's near a ton of great restaurants, shops and things-to-do. Mostly everything we wanted to do was a short walk away. The property itself is stylish, comfortable and cool. There are several spaces within the property itself to sit back, relax or hang out. The walls are filled with interesting art and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The property was also extremely clean. Alberto was extremely hospitable and helpful -- he made our stay great. I think this hotel is the way to go for a trip to Florence!

We had the loveliest time! Alberto gave us amazing restaurant advice, the breakfast is delicious and we took a tray back to our room to have breakfast in bed. The room was so beautiful, quirky and romantic. It was really easy to get to and much more intimate than larger hotels in the area. We LOVED it.
