Very cute hotel, clean, very chilled and comfortable! What makes it special is amazing people who work there making your stay memorable and pleasant!

Verry nice place to stay on a fabulous location. The staf was always ready to help and the breakfast was very good. You are close to the city centre so you can visit everything whiteout a car. Pleasant stay

Great property and stay. A little farther from Main Street than other boutique properties I have stayed at, yet still only a 10-12 minute walk. Rooms are well appointed, super clean and great bed. My bathroom was huge…which I love. I would definitely stay at TheLab again. Best compliment I can give:

Very nice B&B with all the facilities you need. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. There is always a nice vibe. Situated in a nice neighborhood at a short walking distance from the Main street of Franschhoek.

The property has a lot of potential. Rooms look very modern when arriving. However staying in the room has few flaws: 1) Bath in middle of room looks great but very impractical. It would however make a great spot for a dressing table and mirror with great lighting for a lady to do her makeup. 2) The shower and toilet in same area. No Privacy. The toilet gets wet from the shower. The floor stays wet for hours and if you used it your clothes would get wet. 3) Great lighting system. However it controls all the lights at once. Cam be dimmed as required but individual lights , like most guest houses, would be much better. 4) Staff are very friendly. However it is very obvious that the owner is not present on site. Place needs the personal touch. 5) Breakfasts are sufficient but rather poor choice. EG. Toast, but no jam, offered eventhough on menu. (Menu's need to be thrown away and clean ones used. Very offputting before a meal)

Unusual in several ways but all good. High tech controls but also very laid back with fabulous breakfast. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Plenty of places to chill out whether outside by the pool or indoors.

We were met by Gerald who checked us in and showed us the lay of the land. Everywhere was pristine - my first observation. Our room was spacious, with a large wet room. Crisp white bed linen, just saying. Complimentary tea, coffee, water and toiletries. In the kitchen where optional breakfast is served, there is also beer on tap, not something I enjoy, but the man who cooks my meals was delighted. There's a great outdoor space with a small pool and loungers, too. Gerald arranged a taxi to a winery we had chosen to taste at. When the taxi was busy and couldn't bring us back, Gerald sent a member of staff. Above and beyond! The recommendation he gave us for dinner was fantastic and he told us that walking back after dinner would be perfectly safe. He was right. We loved our stay, brief though it was. Thank you so much, Gerald and team.

It's always such a pleasure to stay at The Lab that is why we keep coming back. Gerald is always so welcoming that if feels like coming home, our home away from home. I highly rate The Lab as the best place to stay in Franschhoek.

Fantastic visit albeit far too brief. Superb location a few minutes walk from the main street but pleasantly quiet. A very warm welcome from Joline, who gave me a full tour of my room. Everything is quite high-tech and much of it is VoiceCommands which intrigued to me. Huge TV. Great Wi-Fi. Brilliant coffee machine. Luxurious bathroom with an enormous bath. The outside area is made for relaxing with plenty of shade and there is also an inside lounge to chill out and watch TV. Board games galore. There is an honesty bar and even draught lager, which I didn't sample but incredible. The photos don't do this place justice and I definitely recommend it as a stopping point for a night or a few days. The hotel organised a shuttle down to the main street at night for me to eat and I went to a place called Alaro. Lovely Italian food and I had the prawn risotto with a glass of red wine. They had a promotion on so I had a scratchcard and won another glass! I even got a complimentary shuttle back up to the hotel as it was after dark. In addition there are electric scooters that you are at your leisure to use throughout your stay. I probably didn't utilise all of the features but I just had a such a nice time getting away from it all for a night. I would definitely recommend and I hope to return.
