Drifters Inn

What a lovely surprise 👍 with a super friendly greeting. There is a commercial grade kitchen available for guests that is fully kitted out with cooking gear, hot plates and ovens, microwaves, a coffee machine and so on. Big lounge area with a mix of tables and soft furnishings, tv, games and similar plus outdoor courtyard with tables and BBQ. Had a relaxed night cooking some local chorizo and Zuchinni with Italian gnocchi and a tomato and basil sauce enjoyed with a bottle of Hawkes Bay Syrah. Rooms are modern and well equipped and while not huge have everything you need with the lounge and kitchen facilities available. Highly recommended if you are visiting Hanmer Springs 😆

We stayed just one night as part of a pamper package which also included massage & hot pools entrance. The room was comfortable & facilities excellent. We loved the fact there was a shared kitchen we could cook in. The roaring fire in the lounge and range of board games was excellent. The owners were friendly and helpful. A good central location as well. We'd choose to book into this motel again should we return to Hanmer.

Stayed here for two nights, over a weekend. Found the gentleman at reception, very helpful, and was booked in in good time.The weekend manager obliging, and courteous. I had a studio room for a solo traveler, which is comfortable for the one person. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Ordered continental breakfast for my stay, which was very generous in variety and quantity. Found my stay excellent. The complex is in the centre of town. A very short walk to the hot springs, and eateries close by.

We had a weekend at Drifters and our experience was awesome. Staff are amazing as are the beautiful rooms. Great bed and really comfortable. Very close to some great restaurants with fabulous food. If you want piece and quiet this is a great option for some time out. Plenty of parking available as well. Thanks we will definitely be back again. Sharon & Dave

Asked for a larger room but was told if I want to be near my mates, who were riding around south island independently of me I would have to have studio room. Technically they were right, I guess, I wasnt far away, in a straight line, they were on the upper storey, I was on the ground floor! Room neat and tidy, so small couldnt even fit a chair or desk in,great service upon arrival, given real milk, that is always a winner for me.

This is a great place to stay in Hanmer Springs and boy does it tick all the boxes, Close to the pools, provides pool towels, lovely clean rooms, It has a kitchen that guests can use which use to be a restaurant kitchen. It is stocked to the hilt with kitchenware and crockery so you can cook a storm if you want to. The Hosts are lovely and incredibly helpful. I would love to stay here in winter when its snowing and they have the fire going. This place will be my go to for all future trips to Hanmer Springs. Keep up the good work - 10/10

A very last minute decision to come to Hanmer Springs, and we got so lucky to find accommodation at Drifters after seeing the good reviews. Adele was so welcoming, and as we were an hour early for check in she provided us with their complimentary towels to use at the springs, which was a lovely touch. The living area was huge and welcoming, with a fire, smart tv, lots of games and cute Christmas decorations. The kitchen was huge and had every amenity you could hope for. The bedroom was well equipped with aircon, smart tv, excellent shower pressure and a good hairdryer. The bed itself was massive and comfortable, and the location is the best in Hanmer. We stopped in Hanmer Springs at the recommendation of friends - upon driving into the town I liked the look of the Inn and where it was situated (easy access for the bars and restaurants) The receptionist was extremely helpful and welcoming, and our room was immaculately clean. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed for our overnight stay. We both had a great nights sleep, and paid for the breakfast - it’s a continental one but we were supplied with fruit and yoghurt, 3 different cereal, orange juice, milk and 4 slices of bread for roasting with various jams etc. Towels for the Springs opposite the Inn were also provided, and we visited these after breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, and every member of staff was helpful - I would definately recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean comfortable place to rest their heads whilst in Hanmer Springs! Well done to all the staff xx

We stayed here for one night. It was a beautiful stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean and nicely furnished. We even kindly got an upgrade free of charge on arrival. Phil was welcoming and gave helpful advice and local tips. The living area is so homely, open fire blazing and plenty of board games. The kitchen is very clean and has a coffee machine available. I was impressed to see the kitchen even stocked guinness glasses too. The location is perfect as it is literally across the road from the hot pools. The staff kindly give you towels to use at pool.
