The White Hart Hotel

So I'm leaving this review before I've spent the night. But this evening, I had the fillet steak, cooked mushrooms, tomatoes, onion rings and fries. The fact that the steak comes out blue on a 300°C volcanic stone is bloody amazing. I could cut my steak up into bite sized pieces and sear them individually on the hot stone and each mouthful be piping hot and tasty 😋

We were looking for somewhere for lunch while staying in the area and came across the White Hart. We chose the steak on the hot grill, with sides of raw mushrooms, chips and onion rings. You cook your meat and mushrooms on the hot plate to your own liking and it was delicious (so good in fact that we went back later in the week - wish we were staying longer as we’d have liked to have tried the prawns too). Added bonus was the price, very reasonable and I would definitely recommend.

We stayed 3 nights in this Hotel, room only. The room was spacious, comfy cool beds, good shower and very clean. The cleaning lady was especially helpful with providing local information and supplies of tea, coffee and milk for the room. The price was very reasonable, and we would recommend this Hotel for a short stay.

Booked 4 rooms but my Room smelt really of mould also wall paper was hanging off under window due to damp , black mould in shower ,shower head and bottom of shower curtain mouldy. Worst thing was what looked like blood stains on pillow . Told landlord about it all He went and had a look agreed it was what I said apologised blamed it on the cleaner and said sorry but we're fully booked and pretty much deal with it .also on description it does state that it has steep stairs . But be aware they are very steep and thin so if your disabled like me you will have a big problem getting up and down ..never ever again will I be staying here.

Very Disappointing stay, we arrived at 08:30pm and the bar had already stopped serving food. The stair way up to the rooms is almost dangerous, very steep narrow stairway with a 180 turn half way up with restricted head space, this should not be acceptable as you have to carry luggage bags up these stairs (we only had hand luggage bags) The room was very smelly of mould and smoke (fag but still in window jams), very mouldy smell in the room and wall paper is peeling off the wall, the room did not have a desk for an working that may be needed. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable, this is a very basis offering and should not be advertised as a hotel - and should be honest and say its a Hostel Breakfast was served in a shoebox size cardboard box directly to the bed room and left on the floor out side, the contents was of basic quality and not that great. In the morning the bar is all closed off and there is no seating available until 11am You have to be out of the room at 10am so these no where to go in between

We have been here a few times and the food and service has always been good, next time we are in the area we will be paying a visit and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, The black rock steak is amazing try it

Hadn’t been for a while so thought would try a meal, what a mistake the starter was not hot.then when the main camethe chips were hard and the rest of the meal wasn’t nice tasting. Will not be going again

We had lived in the Holsworthy area for 10 years and had frequented the White Hart regularly in that time. Having moved last year to Wiltshire, we looked forward to a brief return for St Peter’s Fair this week and opted to stay with Tam and Jon Hutchings at their hotel. We had a fantastic stay in a lovely well priced room and really enjoyed the festivities and the location. Incidentally Jon and Tam provided the food for the Fair Lunch and it was superb !

We started our holiday last weekend and on 19th June we booked a table at The White Heart Hotel. After a lovely welcome we went down to the restaurant and sat down. At the one end of the room a small Carvery was set up and each table were asked to go up in turn, which we were very impressed by. A very nice young man by the name of Max explained what was on offer and cut our required meats, asking us if what he passed us was alright. We helped ourselves to ample vegetables and delicious proper roast potatoes. Everything was excellent from the very warm plate taken from the warming cupboard, lovely beef and pork, excellent roast potatoes and vegetables. All the staff were friendly polite and very attentive. A credit to the owners who we understood were on holiday themselves. When leaving I had to ask Max if he ever stopped. He asked everyone if their meal had been to their liking and never stopped. Greeting strangers and many locals and making sure everything was just right. Thank you .
