It might have 9 pillows per bed..We booked 2 rooms on line. Owner Sam . Rudely Said we only booked one.. showed him our confirmation , that we print out. Short of it .threw the 2 set of keys for both rooms.turned his back on us and told us to be out bc 10 am. Place conditioned is a 2 star. But do you need to be abused?

The place was disgusting. Dried snot and blood on walls. Nasty hair hanging on picture frames The bed covering had nasty cum on them the place was horrible. When we asked for our money back so we could go to a different motel he refunded it but was very nasty about it. Following me back to the room and threatening to throw my friends stuff out. He was very mean he was cussing and storming around yelling. Please do not stay here you will be very unhappy. There are nicer motels just a little ways up the road. So very sorry we almost stayed here.

I came in late from I70W, Denver, after having driven from Minneapolis. All the motels around were fulled to capacity. Initially I stopped in and declined because I felt the pricing was extremely high for the set up. After finding nothing I went back to the hotel began to fill out paperwork, just as I was going to inquire the front desk person and likely owner or manager asked me to sign a waiver regarding not having a dog. I explained I did have one. Immediately his reaction changed. I explained I could leave her in the car and would go check in on her periodically. He again shouted, No!!!, angrily and threatened to have me removed. Then told me that should have been the first question I asked. I was appalled, especially since there was a dog at a house, most likely his home.

Great location and access to the highway and city. Sadly this place is worn down and tired. We tired to call for help with an issue yet no answer. This was at 9pm and 7am. Oh well plenty of other places near by that are great. The restaurants and coffee shops are insanely great. Huge shout out to the Frothy Cup for perhaps the best coffee in the US. I still order the coffee to ship to Stone Mountain Ga. We loved our visit to Argo mines .

First off I have stayed at this location now four times over the last few years and I really do love the location and the accommodations. This is met with a huge, however!!! During our last visit, we experienced a mouse, not just a mouse that was not seen, and accidentally steps on and killed. We called the front desk to no answer and left a note on the return key about the mouse incident. After multiple emails we and no reply - we were still charged for the room! If you have a chance look at the other reviews - evidently the mouse issue is a known issue with this location. I would love the owner to acknowledge and simply reply to emails/phone calls. Oh well - as for staying here again - there is not a chance in heck I would even consider the Columbine Inn. If you want I would be more than happy to share photos.

We were travelling for hockey and wanted something affordable. Cute, cozy, and friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. Walking distance to tasty restaurants and Safeway. Close to downtown. Easy check in and out. There was also a futon, a bit outdated, but helpful with a larger group of people.

Mice in room. I accidentally stepped on one and killed it. Wasn’t expecting that micr would be in the room but also sad to hear that problem has existed for more than a year. Other people saw mice. They did nothing about it. It’s not right. Get rid of mice before renting the room.

Sorry in advance for the long review. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We made our reservations over a month in advance online through their website (not a 3rd party) we made our way up there and went to check in. We went up for my sister in laws wedding, as we were trying to check in they told us my sister in law already checked us all in and had our keys. We tried to explain that we had a separate reservation from the wedding party. I tried to show them my reservation but they would not look at it or their system and told me to go talk to my SIL and sort this out. We went and met up with them and all went back to talk to the man at the front desk, we explained the situation (again). He got every aggressive with us and told us this can happen when booking with a 3rd party site. My husband said we booked directly through you. The front desk person kept getting worked up telling us they were full and couldn't do anything. Finally he said I guess I could issue a refund. I had my husband go outside to find us another place to stay as he was leaving the the front desk guy was still talking grumpily about how he could do anything and my husband mentioned fine we will just leave a bad review on this place. After my husband walked out the front desk guy said it was good he went outside or he would call the cops on him. My husband didn't do anything, he wasn't yelling or getting mad at the situation. I sent my daughter outside as I was honestly worried about what else he would do or say. As they went out he kept trying to argue and basically fight us, I finally said lets just stop and have the refund issued so that I cant find another place to stay. As he was looking through the computer he said they cant locate our payment. I told him since you cant locate it that it was a fraudulent transaction on my account. He again tried to argue saying I didn't need to dispute the charge, I told him no if you don't have the funds and they with withdrawn from my account by their PayPal it was a fraudulent transaction. As we left my sister in law said that she was sorry she couldn't do more but with how aggressive he was being she didn't want to risk them getting kicked out of their rooms. This guy was an older man, I don't even know what to say it was super unprofessional. He was almost scary in his instant aggression and never once said I am sorry for this experience. I work in customer service and know even if there is nothing you can do saying I'm sorry can go a long way. 

I booked a room here in February for an August 12-14th 2022 stay because I am running a race in Idaho Springs on Saturday the 13th and I wanted to be sure I got room as I know they sell out this weekend. The owner, Sam, called me yesterday (Wednesday), 2 days before my stay and said that too many people wanted a room. He told me I should not have used a booking engine (I used ***********). He is now over booked so he told me he won't honor my reservation even though I booked in February and have a confirmation email. He was very rude and condescending, saying this was all MY FAULT, that I should have booked directly through him and I wouldn't have had this problem. If this is the case, why does he list his motel on ***********? He gave me the number of a motel across the street to try, but of course they are booked up because there is a race in town so I no longer have a place to stay. When I expressed disbelief that I didn't have a room, this guy hung up on me. I called back and he hung up on me again. Although he has apparently owned this place for many years, he obviously knows nothing about empathy or customer service, and he is definitely disorganized if he can't even keep track of his reservations - a key component of running a motel. There are much better places to stay in Idaho Springs where you won't have this problem. I suggest NOT giving this guy any more business.
