I booked a room here in February for an August 12-14th 2022 stay because I am running a race in Idaho Springs on Saturday the 13th and I wanted to be sure I got room as I know they sell out this weekend. The owner, Sam, called me yesterday (Wednesday), 2 days before my stay and said that too many people wanted a room. He told me I should not have used a booking engine (I used ***********). He is now over booked so he told me he won't honor my reservation even though I booked in February and have a confirmation email. He was very rude and condescending, saying this was all MY FAULT, that I should have booked directly through him and I wouldn't have had this problem. If this is the case, why does he list his motel on ***********? He gave me the number of a motel across the street to try, but of course they are booked up because there is a race in town so I no longer have a place to stay. When I expressed disbelief that I didn't have a room, this guy hung up on me. I called back and he hung up on me again. Although he has apparently owned this place for many years, he obviously knows nothing about empathy or customer service, and he is definitely disorganized if he can't even keep track of his reservations - a key component of running a motel. There are much better places to stay in Idaho Springs where you won't have this problem. I suggest NOT giving this guy any more business.
